Coach speak.

If we’re in year 6 like Garrett talking about the process than we all need finally jump off the ledge and just give up on this team.

Get over it folks. It's a process for every coach and team. Nobody walks in from day 1 and everything is as smooth and practiced and ready to go as it will be over time.

Keep in mind the Packer fans say the same things about McCarthy as we do about Garrett.

It's just rotating retreads in the NFL.

Packers fans have balls after going 10-8 in the postseason with 4 trips to the championship round and a Super Bowl win. Garrett's 2-3 is pathetic. One might be a retread but the other never accomplished anything.

Fair enough, but what would Garrett's record be with Aaron Rodgers and a GM that didn't ignore the defense for 20 years.

There is no such thing as rebuilding and processes in the NFL. With short player lifespans and the amount of turnover, you can't build a team that stays with each other for long times like MLB and NBA.

3 of the coaches in the championship games this weekend are 1st, 2nd and 3rd year coaches. McVey got to a Super Bowl in his 2nd year. So did Pederson. Sean Payton got to the NFC championship in his first year. He then won a Super Bowl in his 4th year. Tomlin won one in his 2nd year. Went to another 2 years later.

This idea of a long drawn out process and giving these coaches and front office all this time is ridiculous. Garrett should have been fired after his 3rd season. He had not grown one bit and was as clueless then as he was his first year. But nope, we give him the rest of the decade to learn and he crapped the bed every single time.
I agree about rebuilding with one caveat. You have to have at least a serviceable QB or you have no shot.

I don’t really agree. Some fans do yes, some seem to have a decent amount of respect for McCarthy. Imo he was just as good as Sean Payton in NO during his GB tenure
No, they don't respect McCarthy up there. They were calling for his head big time.

Frankly, I don't care what verbiage gets used, and don't even care if he claps on the sidelines, as long as he gets the desired result.

I'm a huge Lebron fan so I watch all of the Lakers games and interviews - Frank Vogel uses the word process more the anyone I've ever seen and he coaches the #1 team in the West with the best player of all time. It's an easy way to deflect questions. Hell, the 76ers adopted the mantra 'process' and their best players nickname is the process lol

About half way through he used the dreaded process line. This is a fireable offense no?

Also suggests he’s not going to tear down the offense.

It's a common term used by coaches and players.

The difference is that Garrett used it about 100 to 1 over other people...

"Process" is a word every coach uses because coaching and building up a team is indeed a process, and contrary to many snide comments, NO, the process never ends because you are basically starting over with a new team every season.

He new Carolina coach, Rhule, used it over and over throughout his entire presser.
