I smell a JJ "Get me a Super Bowl this year" move.

On the lighter side, time to get a burner phone just in case Garrett ends up in NY.
If that happens, we use the burner to text the first 12 plays the Cowboys will run to Garrett.

Garret will think he has some super inside intel.
I can see Rivera punching him on the sideline while he claps.

Very disappointing comment by McCarthy as to his rationale for letting Moore continue to call plays. The offense was abysmal against anyone good and he thinks something good was established that needs to be preserved. Unreal.

Abysmal I tells ya, Abysmal!!!

The play calling wasn’t bad. We put up points and scored, our D just sucked and our coaching/game plan sucked.

I can see that point of view. but does it necessarily mean the same system or just Moore being involved?

McCarthy called plays for 13 years in GB. Its his offense. He expressed a desire to call plays at his intro press conference.........but it seems someone (???? who could it be......) talked him out of it in support of his latest coaching project.

As long as he steps in and corrects the horrible end of game decisions we made, this is fine.

Examples:

1) Never take your two best WRs off the field on 4th down with the season on the line.
2) Don't let your 90 million dollar RB come off the field on critical 3rd and 4th and 1's because he's tired.
3) If your QB is hot and your running game is not, don't run it twice and then throw an out to your back as the first read on 4th down.

Not sure who is responsible for those decisions between Garrett and Moore - but I do hope McCarthy gives us some competent 4th quarter management.
I think position coaches have a say in this as well especially when pulled for poor play.

And so it begins....

Did anyone really think Jerry was going to change. Pretty sure it was Jerry's decision to keep Moore on as OC and now after 13 years of calling plays, Moore will call plays for McCarthy.

Jerry is selling his preferences which clearly haven't worked. MM has got to realize that he's never going to have more authority to make things the way he wants than right now. He's surrounded himself with his own coaching staff and has a real chance to change the culture........but he's going to give the one holdover from the Garret regime the keys to the offense? Just wow.

So what is McCarthy doing then?
This is the biggest thing that makes me want to slap fans.

They think if a coach doesn't call defensive or offensive plays they aren't doing anything but....clapping. *cough*

McCarthy is the team's CEO. Buck stops with him but every CEO has a C-suite of executives that are specialized and given space to execute and perform.

The entire corporate world is moving away from the superhero executive culture. And for good reason.
