You’re a funny guy. I have a friend who played for a D1 school 2 years ago. And guess what. He had a knee issue that he wanted to play thru. Told the trainer. Trainer gave him a shot and he played. It’s not uncommon still to this day. The NfL is obviously different but it wouldn’t shock me if Dak said he wanted to be on the field. The guy couldn’t do anything on Monday and is playing on Sunday? Magically? How long ago was the Romo rib game? I’m not sitting here saying I play in the NFL and to suggest I am is a joke. The NFL only cares about concussions. And it’s only because of the CTE news coming out otherwise we wouldn’t even have known. So please spare me you’re subtle jabs making it seem like I’m pretending to be some kind of insider when I am not.
But you were enough of an insider to spot “fakes”. At least fakes in your learned experience. So we are talking about sore knees or ribs and not a broader system where players determine their eligibility and trainers comply? Clearly not today’s protocol. Further the NFL cares about a lot more than CTE. At least they pretend to. My point was that the players don’t rule the trainers. Coaches know exactly who is nursing what. Depending on who the player is and what they got they may have some latitude. You made it sound like players are running over the trainers. That is not happening. Certainly not these days.
