The Cowboys had the worst starting field position in the NFL. Dead last. The QB has no control over that. It just makes his job harder.

"Look what Mahomes did in the 4th quarter of the SB!"

He doesn't lead that comeback without his defense getting him the ball back three times. If the Niners grind 6 minutes off the clock or score another TD there's nothing he can do but watch.

Wins and losses aren't just about the QB.

At a 2.1 cap hit in 2019 he was a value and an asset.

At a projected 33 in 2020 that's 3 bodies that could help sure up the defense.

For that cost he's got to be a LOT better than he's EVER shown.

Like tons better.

I don't think he can sustain being "a lot better" over the course of a 5-6 year deal.

Still though... Romo getting paid like he had won a Super Bowl pretty much ruined any chance we had at winning a Super Bowl because our only way to acquire good players was in the draft and the team suffered.

It was more than that........Romo was the team. He held it together and made average players look a lot better. And we saw that going from 13-3 in 2014 to 4-12 in 2015 when Romo went down. Romo literally played on teams with 4-12 talent and he was the difference.

So apparently you're not a business man I would assume... Do you realize we got an incredible value for 4 years on a cheap rookie later round contract? Could you imagine working for a company on a deal for 4 years and being one of the most high profiled worker only to not get valued for what you were contributing?

Dak has every right to go out and get what the market value is for his services. If you look at what Wentz and Cousins got and where things are going I think he is deserving of some very nice money. As soon as you said you can't win a super bowl with Dak let me know just how biased on unrealistic you really are. In real life, face to face I would absolutely abolish you in a debate.

Zeke’s fumble/nonfumble cost us a game. Amari’s deflected pass cost us a game. The two phantom tripping calls on Tyron cost us a game.

Dak is an 11/12 win QB a year with a decent supporting cast. That’s top shelf year in and year out and he has upside.

We are also in the worst division in football. So that doesn't help his case.

You also can't say all those things cost us games. They may have ultimately decided them in some instances, but if they don't happen, there's no guarantee the end result would have been different.

My biggest problem is he no longer elevates his play in crunch time. His rookie year, he was clutch. This past year, he and the team seemed to always come up short in the key moments. Not all on him, but I would take Wilson all day over dak. That's the type of money dak is wanting.

The greatest statement with the Chiefs is they had a decent QB in Smith that Reid traded for when he took over and was enough to turn the franchise around to win the division. But after a few years Reid wanted more. At what point will Cowboy fans want more?
