Mights be enough to make Jerry get rid of our useless head coach. This team is going nowhere with Wade. A bye week after starting 0-3 might make Jerry pull the trigger and make up for his mistake of retaining Wade. It would be our only hope of salvaging this season.:banghead:

Won't happen at the bye. We are going to have to stay it in for the long haul. And if a late run happens like last year and we get into the playoffs we will have Wade for another year.

In my opinion, teams which fire their head coaches during the season do not typically turn their seasons' around. Does anyone have examples where interim head coaches are generally more successful than their predecessors?

IMO it makes sense when you are having zero success with your current coach and you have as talented roster as the Boys do. Other than one good four game stretch to end last year this team has been a .500 team under Wade since December 2007. We have WAY too much talent for that!

No interim coach has made the playoffs since 1970.

You previously mentioned salvaging the season. If firing your head coaching in-season is typically a good move, there should be more examples of it succeeding than examples of it not succeeding.

Thanks CL. I did not know for certain, but thought that was kind of the case.

Steve Fisher at Michigan :laugh2:

It amazes me that people keep talking about the Cowboys playing in the Super Bowl.

Let's just focus on winning a regular season game.

We won't make the playoffs with Wade either or if we barely do we will be blown out again.

In all honesty...there is a part of me that wants this to get so embarrassing that Jerry has to raise the white flag and acknowledge he needs to step back and let Stephen take a larger role and let Stephen make decision on GM and coach.

It's too late. Wade should've never been hired, and then should've been fired after the '08 season.

Regrettably, all 3 NFCE teams now have significantly better coaching staffs than the Cowboys.

So it is that we should get rid of the head coach and not expect the interim head coach to salvage the season, correct?

We've only won our division (and made the playoffs) two of the last three years.

If things don't turn around, he'll get canned soon enough. But you've always irrationally hated Wade. I see you're from Nederland.... Is it something personal with you?

I never said they have a shot at the SB. I only stated that Jerry's desire to play in a SB in his new stadium and an 0 -3 start might make him go ahead and make a change he should have made after we were blown out by Philly to end the 08 season. We are wasting time with Phillips!!

I don't disagree, but mid-season coaching changes don't work in football.

He'll be on the sideline Week 17 in December one way or the other.

Nothing personal. I was on his side until the Philly debacle to end 08. The team quit on him. I allowed myself to get a little bit excited with our late season win streak last year only to come back to reality after the Minny game. I honestly feel we have THE most talented roster top to bottom in the league. The window of opportunity to win in the NFL is small. I believe we are wasting our window with all this talent. I believe Wade is a good DC and good X & 0 coach but severely lacks in discipline and motivation. I just want us to win and I honestly believe Jerry is wasting a ton of talent on Wade.
