The Carolina Panthers may have gotten down to the league-mandated 53-player limit Saturday, but they weren't done making moves.

The team acquired five players off waivers Sunday, and former second-round pick Everette Brown was subsequently released to make room on the roster.

Brown, a defensive end, was the 43rd overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. He started just three games in two seasons with Carolina, recording six sacks.

He might be a good candidate for outside LB in our 3-4. He's still got talent from what I could tell. I had the misfortune of watching the Panthers play when the Cowboys aren't on of course.

He's a little bit short at 6'1".

He also doesn't have great change of direction skills with a mediocre short shuttle and 3-cone drill.
