Please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't TO become a FA after the season? We already know WR Roy Williams will be a FA.

How would TO act if he were playing a possible 2nd fiddle to RW? I could see us making a run at RW at the end of the season and possibly letting TO walk. We would also take less of a cap hit if Glenn reired/was released next year.

This would give us 1 more year to develop our young guys to let us know our draft needs as well as save us some $$.

TO wouldn't play second fiddle to RW. He would still be the #1 receiver.

Watch out for Kenny Mckinley out of South Carolina, he flat out gets it done with horrible QBs - and does better against tougher competition.

I can absoutely see us letting TO walk to bring in Roy Williams.

That would be the smart play.

I dunno if that was tongue in cheek, but I see T.O. peforming at the same 1200 yds 12+ TDs level for at least 3-4 more years. Don't know if I'd want to give up the only free agent signing we've had to make an immediate impact, and stay healthy in the past 3 years.

We should brink in a WR and re-sign TO. Glenn might have only a year or two left in him (if he isn't done already). Stanback, Hurd, and Austin haven't shown that they are ready for the next step yet.

Not tongue in cheek at all. I appreciate his talent and what he's done for us. But he's approaching an age when most WRs "lose it". And when it goes, it goes fast, no matter how hard you work out. I'd rather us not be stuck with an enormous contract of an over the hill WR who can't perform at the level he wants to through no fault of his own.

I think it would be far more prudent to invest that money elsewhere.

I agree that most WRs lose it, and lost it quickly. Except I think we all agree that Owens is a physical specimen (similar to Rice's work ethic), and I haven't seen any sign of a decline in his production or durability. Still easily the best or 2nd best receiver in the game, and the attention that he draws is still probably the best aspect of his game.

Any other receiver, and I'm with you but I think Owens is cut from a different cloth.

I would re-sign T.O. to another 3 year deal with a raise before the season ended and go from there.

I think T.O. will be very productive for another 3-4 years. Letting him walk and signing Roy Williams is a downgrade at the position IMHO.

I still think we can upgrade the WR position without cutting T.O. loose. Hell we could re-sign him now, convert his roster bonus (plus some) to a signing bonus and have his cap hit over the next couple of seasons lower than it is right now. If he starts to falter after year two of a three year deal then cut him and eat the remainder of his bonus. I think that stillwould give us the wiggle room to sign RW with a deal that's a little more backloaded and give T.O. and RW a year or two to work some magic. This window that we have right now is only going to be open for a couple more years, then it's going to be time to start letting some of these guys go anyway. Might as well go all in.

There's almost no way to see it coming, IMO. You just have to kind of set a date, and call it quits. Harrison is pretty much done. Owens could lose it this year. It's unpredictable. You can already see that Owens has lost his ability to turn a 5 yards reception into a 60 yard TD - he just doesn't do it anymore. He's still amazing, even without that, but I am very wary of us giving him another top WR deal, which is what he'll want and deserve if he has another great year.

T.O is the most explosive Wr even at this age...He'll be the same for a couple more years with the way He trains. His Body is a Phenom!. Jus look at how He recovers from injuries.

T.O is Second fiddle to Nobody. RW better understand that or any other big name Wr comming to dallas for that matter.

I disagree. I would have signed Darrel Green, Rice, Irvin, or Moss to a three 3 year deal at that age.

Some players are an exception to the rule. I believe T.O. is one of them.

Darrius Heyward-Bey of Maryland, Oderick Turner of Pittsburgh, Brandon LaFell of LSU, Percy Harvin of Florida (though he needs to get bigger), Derrick Williams of Penn State and Jaison Williams of Oregon will all be great pro prospects next year.

Duke Calhoun of Memphis, Jarrett Dillard of Rice, and Aaron Kelly of Clemson will be under the radar players (barring huge seasons) but will be a very good pros IMO

Maclin won't come out for at least another two years.

Crabtree...I'm iffy about. Players who excel in a gimmick offense always scare me. See: Andre Ware, Jarrett Hicks, any QB/WR to play for Florida under Spurrier, any QB/RB to play for Nebraska under Osborne, etc.
