Round 1- Myles Jack LB UCLA- Jack is a flat out special talent that will shine regardless of where you put him on a football field. His ability to make plays and create turnovers in the middle of the field would be a breathe of fresh air for our D. Pairing Jack with Byron Jones would put us ahead of the curve in stopping RB's, TE's, and slot WR's in the passing game. I mean how many 230 pound LB's have you seen do this? http://www.draftbreakdown.com/gif-embed/?clip=255539&gif=WeakCheerfulAnophelesmosquito
Round 2- Eli Apple CB Ohio St- Long, athletic, and aggressive CB who is still developing. I see him as a potential #1 CB and probably would be a much higher pick had he stayed for his Jr year. He's very "handsy" as of right now which will get him penalized a lot in the nfl, but he's got pretty much everything you would want in a CB prospect...loose hips and good feet to stick in man, over 6'1 200, won't get beat over the top by most WR's, and not afraid to tackle in run support.
Round 3- Jordan Howard RB Indiana- 1200 hards, 6 YPC, and 9 TD's in 9 games which was actually a down year form his previous year playing for UAB. Big 6'1 225 pound back with quick feet and great vision. Quick shifty cuts combined with his big frame make him hard to bring down. Seems to always breakthrough the line for at least a decent gain, evidence by his ridiculous YPC. If you're unfamiliar with him you can watch him torch a good Michigan D for 200+ yards here.
Round 4- Willie Henry DT Michigan- Speaking of a good Michigan D, Henry was the rock in the middle of it. He's a big strong guy with long arms a pretty good burst to penetrate gaps. Not a pass rusher by any means, but disruptive in a lot of ways. Good fit for 1 tech in this scheme and he's a talent that is pushed down due to a strong DT class.
Round 4 Comp- Jordan Williams WR Ball State- Big well built athlete at 6'2 225. Knows how to use his frame well and has great body control...boxes out well on sidelines and on jump balls. Lacks great vertical speed but he has very good hands and the size to beat up on most CB's. I could see him being a poor man's Anquan Boldin as a solid possession WR who excels in the red zone.
Round 6- Alex McCalister DE Florida- Gotta have at least 1 risky pick on a sketchy character guy right? McCalister was kicked off of Florida for "violation of team rules". When on the field he showed signs of a pure edge pass rusher though. Had 6 sacks and 9 TFL backing up Fowler in '14 and then had 9.5 TFL and 6.5 sacks in the 9 games he was able to play in '15. Needs to continue to add weight to play DE but he showed the type of burst and athleticism of a much higher pick.
Round 6 comp- Lloyd Carrington CB Arizona- Ton of experience starting in the pac-12. Not the greatest athlete and needs to hit the weight room, but he's a tough scrappy kid with good length. Always competing for the ball and does a good job of turning his head to find the ball in the air. Could find a niche playing in our off man scheme.
Round 7- Soma Valnuku FB USC- It's about time to bring in someone who can do a little more from the FB position than Clutz.
Round 7- Giorgio Newberry DT Florida State- Talented athlete that never had a chance to develop at FL St because of a position change to TE his sophomore year due to injuries. He's 6'5 295 with the athleticism to play TE. Needs time to actually settle in at DT and learn the position but there could be something here as a developmental project.
Round 7- Blake Frohnapfel QB Umass- 6'6 230 and not a bad athlete. A little bit of a funky delivery but still gets enough zip to make most throws. Practice squad stash.
