Good.

Few thoughts-
Not sure Mangini/Holmgrem go WR. Baluga/Robinson might be bit high. Id rather Williams over Cody.

I'd be damn happy with Cody (although I'm perfectly happy with Ratliff), I'd even take Mays. I think Cody is a top 15 pick though. Some 3-4 team will snatch him up.

i'd be happy with Cody though sceptical. I would be pissed if the Giants got Earl Thomas. that will be quite a safety tandem between he and Kenny Philips.

What takes us from having a very good D to a downright dominant D could be more one on ones for Ratliff.

Not sure where you put him if you draft Cody but.........

Spears Cody Ratliff

With Rat playing next to Ware, Ware gets the attention + those 2 are so athletic you could twist/stunt them to wreak havoc.

Ratliff Cody Olshansky/Spears

With Ratliff at LDE the protection slides to Ware and Spencer/Ratliff wreak havoc from the strong side.

I think I would prefer Ware/Ratliff attacking off the weak side.

I have a feeling Cody is way overrated. He's very one dimensional and very fat. I wouldn't want to use a first on a guy like Shaun Rogers who has to come off the field all the time because he's gassed.

I think I'd rather Wade find a guy later like when he found Pat Williams as an undrafted guy out of A&M.

A lot will be determined by the kind of shape he shows up in at the combine.

Right now he's a rotational NT, which happens to fit perfectly with what we need at the position.

If Rat went down in week 2 I'd rather go the distance with Cody vs Siavii.

Bama was 28th in country vs run before he got there.

#2 in 2008 and 2009.

co-signed

drafting a backup NT who might play 10-12 plays a game with our first pick seems like a lame idea to me...Jay Ratliff= GREAT NT, we dont need another NT

We already have two safeties who cant make any plays, no reason to add a 3rd to the mix.

Mays= horrible NFL safety

Unless we're losing someone in FA anyone we draft is a depth guy.

Maybe, maybe not. Depends who's available.

After last Sunday, getting a highly rated OL at G or T might produce a starter. Drafting a safety might produce a starter.

I definitely wouldnt use an early pick on a backup NT though. Ratliff's in his prime, which means somebody like Cody would be a benchwarmer for years.

I'd take Cody in 2 not 1.

We haven't taken OL in one since 89.

I'm of the opinion we can get a similar OL in 2-3 that we can bottom of 1-top of 2.

Same with S.

Can't say the same at NT.

With the FA's we have coming up at DE that position is fluid not static.

Pay Spears a ton of money to be a one dimensional run stuffer?

Or pay Ratliff his due and have him get more 1 on 1's at DE and be fresher for nickel DT pass rush?

Groom Cody for a year behind Ratliff.

IMO that would make us better vs run and pass.

And if you can't get Cody 30 snaps behind Spears, Rat, Igor then you aren't even trying.

I think they've made it pretty clear Ratliff is staying at NT, I think he even said himself he loves NT and doesnt want to move.

They arnt spending a premium pick on a 10-12 snap a game guy. Especially one thats a threat to eat himself out of the league .

I think people would be happy with it cause they think Spears will ask for too much money since he's a FA.

He, like 4 other quality Tarheel prospects, decided to stay in school. Watch out for North Carolina next year

Spears will be a Restricted Free Agent and will be tendered. If he leaves we will be getting draft picks.

he'd be a part time player here anyways because Rat isn't moving to DE
