They've won the Superbowl each time...

Pretty sure we lost an NFC Champ Game to the Vikes at Texas Stadium in the early 70s. Would we not have been the #1 seed? Or maybe the #1 seed got knocked off early that year.

Unless we were a lower seed and the seed(s) ahead of us lost already in the playoffs

That's what I suspect. I think it was 1973.

1995- Won Super Bowl
1993- Won Super Bowl
1979- Lost in Divisional Playoff to the Rams
1977- Won Super Bowl

1973- game was at Texas Stadium but Home Field was not a factor- it was on an alternating basis for the championship game at that time. Vikings had a 12-2 record and we were 10-4.

Via Wiki:

Prior to the 1975 season, the home teams in the playoffs were decided based on a yearly rotation.

That may have possibly been the one of the most stupid rules ever.
