Yes I know my dude but the other 46.8 % is why you play the game . I just don't care about front runners homie.

Yet only 7 winners since 2000. Game has changed a lot since. A more accurate measure is how many have won recently when parity has been more of a factor.
This is the perfect response. The percentage has dropped significantly recently as the league has drawn closer in competition.

It’s not nearly the advantage it used to be.

Absolutely. In my 90s world, I remember thinking it's Dallas or San Francisco. Winner of that game wins the Super Bowl. Don't even bother the other games... it's a one game year in the league. The NFC won the Super Bowl for 13 straight years before Elway and the Broncos changed that script. So it was clearly the superior conference for the length of kindergarten thru Grade 12. Nowadays, no way can one conference dominate like that.

But even that 97 Broncos team was closer to the top seed than the #4 seed. They were probably the best team in the AFC. Chiefs are not a playoff team, they were a regular season team as generally characteristic of Marty Schottenheimer. A huge underdog to Green Bay in the Super Bowl, but I knew personally they could have won... I remember thinking that Elway team was on the rise, so watch out Green Bay.

So I guess my point is that even as late as 1997-1999, game was still being dominated by a few select teams. Namely Dallas and San Francisco, then Green Bay and Denver came on later. Those teams won 7 straight Super Bowls in the middle of the 90s. Nowadays, 2 or 3 teams dominating like that is irregular. There are standouts, but I think all 7 teams that make the playoffs from the NFC has a chance.
