10 truths about 06 'Boys

Not in the preseason. Also for all of you Henson lovers, since he can't hold kicks he won't be the backup. He does look good holding a clipboard, though. I hope he has studied the schedule and is starting to learn the offenses of opposing teams, so he can run the scout team in practice.

What kills me is all of you don't focus on Oline. What were your thoughts of their performance? This is where we need to be concerned the most.

Columbo got beat a couple of times, once against Seattle backups, RP was beaten by backups a couple of times, Kosier looked decent especially pulling, Rivera looked better and a little healthier, Adams looked a little slow and rusty also. Gurode messed up a snap count.
This was overshadowed by Romo's surprising scrambling ability. But for the first time in a game situation, I was overall pleased with their performance. Although Tapp was giving us a bit of a rush, Seattle doesn't have much on the Dline, as compared to NY or Philly.

I was pleased with both the pass blocking and the play of Romo. I also support Henson as well as Romo, last time I checked both guys were still members of this team and as long as that is the case I will continue to hope both players improve and develop into quality QB's. This really gets old with Hensonite and the Ramones BS that takes place around here.

9- actually, I think that our secondary is really deep.. Aaron Glenn could still start for most of the teams in the NFL.. and Parcells is very high on Reeves, saying that he is ready to be a starter.. and Nate Jones is about as good as it gets for a #5 CB.. let's assume that Watkins is the starting FS.. Davis is great depth at SS and Marcus Coleman is a talented guy with a ton of experience and can play FS or CB..

10- I don't understand how Watkins and TO both fit into one "truth"

Couldn't agree more! I think some folks will be surprised with Reeves and Jones. Elam may turn out to be something as well. Parcells seems to like him, but is still a little tight with the leash and understandably so.

To the original post regarding being light @ RB. Not sure what you are saying there. I tend to think you are literal in regards to the playing weight of the backs. If that is the case, I think that's not very accurate. Jones is over 205, Barber is considerably larger than last season (I'd say about 215 or so), and Thompson is around 220. Pretty average across the league. If you mean the team is thin (depth wise) @ RB...I disagree there too.

For the most part, you scored about a 60 or 70% on your 10 points;)

Romo fumbled the snap twice, Brilliance.

L Johnson is about 230
E James is 220
Alexander is about 230
LT is about 220

So yes when Jones, Barber and Tompson are all less then I would say they are a little light. But use the wor' "little" loosely because it is a little. But 10-20 pounds of muscle is 10-20 pounds of muscle......

One of those sanps was Gurode's fault at least from my vantage point...

5) Why did Adams and Rivera start the game on the right side and then swith to the left side on the next possession?

What game were you watching? Rivera played Right Guard, just as he always does, the whole time he was in there. And, Adams played left tackle, just as he always does.

I'm certainly not a Henson lover, but he has held for kicks in the past. In 2004 he was the holder in the games in which he was the backup QB.

/not sure why I'm responding to obvious inflammatory statements
//thinking this thread will go downhill pretty quick-like

I disagree with no depth in the DB area. i think we have very good depth all over the D. Also, Canty was not the steal, but a great value for where we picked him. The steal of last years draft is Jay Ratliff. Very hard worker and is going to contribute alot this season... not bad for the 7th round pick.

I could be mistaken b/c I can admit when I am wrong unlike others on this board, but I could have sworn the first possession Columbo was on the left side and Adams was on the right.

I can understand that Henson can't hold kicks and that is what 3rd stringers do!

Wow. Just Wow.

Clearly you know nothing about the game.

You go find me a single game last year where the 3rd string QB was holding for kicks.

starting lineup in Seattle:

LT - Adams

LG - Kosier

C - Gurode

RG - Rivera

RT - Colombo

and i have to disagree that Colombo looked good. to me, he looked like a servicable backup at best. and the others are right about our secondary depth, as we are light years ahead of what we were this time last year.
