10 years ago today Romo suffered a back injury in the preseason, paving the way for Dak

I was not disagreeing with you. You have differentiated other examples for how many years they were in the league in relation to Ezekiel Elliott production in 2016. I do not understand since that is not what you emphasized in the post I replied to.
My orignal point was that rookie QB's don't get to start on a team like 2016 Cowboys. If we must add an "often" in there...okay...that's fine.

I'm thinking Jow Burrow.

My memory and overall NFL knowledge about those other teams/RBs being as good or better? Probably is not good enough to object to your list..so I'll concede. :)

So many people were upset that Tony did not get the opportunity to play later in the season I said at the time and very much still agree after seeing him have to do stretching exercises for his back before doing a sobriety test.

His back was shot it was no longer NFL ready or even close.
He had a family and could have been rendered paralyzed if he continued to play.

If you watch that play you will see the defender did not try to hit him real hard and land with all his weight on him he went off his right shoulder and purposely did not slam down on top of him it was a very benign tackle in NFL terms.

If Tony were to have come back that year teams would have targeted him hard and knocked him out of the game as he could no longer take being tackled at an NFL level.

Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor and I think Jerry put Tony's health as the top priority and in the long run did him a tremendous favor.

Then why did he risk Tony's health with the last series?

Suit yourself. You are the one single fan here at the Zone that clings to the ridiculous fantasy that the team Prescott played with in 2016 was "crappy" and that it wasn't almost exactly the same roster as 2015.

Can't rationally debate emotional agendas so, have at it.

By the way. Here is your prediction for that crappy 2015 team. 11-5

https://cowboyszone.com/threads/predict-our-2015-record.313293/post-5941583
I predicted 11-15 pre Romo injury or post? If I said that after Romo got hurt then fair enough. If I said it pre injury...for what it's worth that team was 3-0 when Romo was healthy.

There's no agenda. I don't think the team was good. You think they were. You think you are on the right side of this argument but I can even admit I'm sure the correct answer is somewhere in the middle. Were they the worst team in the league? No. Were they as bad as 4 win season was? No. But I don't believe good teams win 4 games. When Tom Brady went down for the season the Pats won 11 games. Even the McCarthy year there was a year where Dak went down and Rush went like 4-0.

When a team collapses losing even the QB that tells you how good a team is. So you can call it agenda driven if you want but I've backed my claims up with actual history and facts.

The offensive line was great.
Zeke was PHENOMENAL
Dez was a shell of himself by 2016. It got embarrassing at times to watch him complain of the football and then drop it.
Witten was past his prime.
Terrance Williams....a chest catcher whose best years were behind him.
Brice Butler.....one trick pony.

It's interesting you claim my opinion is agenda driven but yours isn't. When you're consistently anti Dak. But no there's no agenda here. You're being fair and biased lol. Come on......be honest with yourself. There's nothing fair about your posts regarding Romo or Dak.

Joe Burrow??? Come on, man. Cincinnati drafted him first overall. They intended to start Burrow as a rookie Week One weeks before they handed in their card to Roger Goodell. :)

Yeah he was an older rookie to wasn't he like 24 or 25? He was also considered pro ready. Him starting made too much sense.

Also there was a time when Romo could barely practice and had to get shot up every Wednesday I can't remember if that was 2014 or 2015. I suppose the writing was on the wall then.

Exactly my point! Thank you!

Most starting rookie QB's are drafted very high...and go to crappy teams that "earned" the high draft pick.

It's why I ORIGINALLY said Dak was pretty lucky Romo went down...on a pretty good team with a super stud RB (2016 NFL rusing leader) to hand off to.

You're serious? The NFL has been around for over a century and Joe Burrow was far from being the first first round draft pick to start Week One.. as intended by the team drafting them.

Of course, Dak Prescott was lucky how events unfolded during his rookie season. The backup quarterback got injured first and was lost for the season. Then the (veteran and franchise) starting quarterback was injured and medically sidelined for two months.

Is someone arguing those set of events?

Ahhhh.... So your prediction was based on Romo carrying the team on his back. The insinuation is also that Prescott inherited that crappy team so obviously Prescott carried that team on his back.

Interesting because you have repeatedly and adamantly stated that QB's don't carry teams on their back.

You're flopping all over the place. See below. lol

At the moment...I have NO idea!

That's all I remember saying:facepalm:

Where did I say he was the first first round pick to start?
You didn't. I apologize. Allow me to re-reply to your comment:

Yeah he was an older rookie to wasn't he like 24 or 25?
Yes. Burrow was an older rookie. Yet a rookie's age did not prevent other teams in other seasons from starting their younger quarterbacks. Age played a part for his maturation but that was a specific but not unique evaluation gauge used for Burrow.

He was also considered pro ready. Him starting made too much sense.
True. Other rookie quarterbacks (not all but some) have been drafted high in the first round and were consider pro ready. It made sense for their teams to start them as well.

Oh you're reaching. But you think you're cooking so I'll entertain it lol.

Let's make one thing clear Dak nor Romo has ever "carried" anyone. Winning 11 games with that crappy 2015 schedule hardly equates to thinking Romo can "carry" them to something meaningful.

Fact is, the Cowboys could never win games without Romo. It's a known fact. I think in 2015 Kellen Moore may have won 1 meaningless game. The fact the Patriots could win 11 games without Tom Brady and the Cowboys couldn't win one game with Matt Cassell shows what's important. I'll let you figure it out though since you seem to think so highly of Jason Garrett...

You're trying to expose me for something I said 7 years ago and still failing lol. You would've did better just saying "Good day" or whatever you do lol.

I have a question though.....you believe Dak or Romo should've won in spite of Garrett and Jerry. Is that my understanding? What's your actual point here? Please stay on topic and don't deflect. Thanks.

$2.5 million to push Milton? Lol
Hello erod (lol)

But seriously, there's a 1000 Sam Howells out there........he wasn't brought in to win the job as much as to see if Milton was really serious about taking his game to the next level. If there was no improvement, I'm sure they would cut him in a heartbeat and take a hard look at the 2027 draft.
