I can tell you have a thing against Jones, so no matter what logic is presented, you're not gonna' give an inch.
As if there was no record on Johnson to go on. His college resume'. His past relationship with Jerry @ Arkansas. Yeah, Jones just threw a dart at the NCAA college coaching ranks and happened to hit Jimmy Johnson!
"The fact that he turned out good had nothing to do with Jerry being smart". Do you realize how rediculous that sounds? I suppose the millions it took to buy the Cowboys to begin with was another fluke that just "happened" to Jones, had nothing to do with smarts, heh? And the unbelievable amount of nuggets it took for him to dismiss Landry, when he knew he'd get crucified for it................he get's no credit for happened after, huh?
Jerry Jones was the architect and genesis for resurrecting the Cowboys at the darkest time in Cowboy history. In fact, that was his most frequent comment in those days, "I bought the Dallas Cowboys to restore them back to their rightfull place as Champions." Not only did he bring them back to respectability, but helped in the formation of what may be the greates assembly of talent ever. When he did what he said he'd do, every reason in the world for how he had nothing to do with it became a cottage industry.
And the worst of it is, is that COWBOY FANS themselves have climbed on the predictable anti-Jones spin and bias that was predestined to happen anyway.
No matter who owns Dallas, who plays, who coaches, there's a whole wave of why it's not relevant out there, why every Cowboy success deserves an asterisk. Been going on since the 70's.
Had Jones not purchased the Cowboys and got involved in every fabric of HIS Cowboys, we may be looking at 26 years without a playoff win!

im not saying they arent a dynasty. im saying that theyve overcome the salary cap by a method that will be virtually impossible to replicate. They've done without very many great players. Sort of like the Florida Gators in college...if tom brady played in a different system i dont think hed be so succesful
Hopefully I will get over this soon, because I'm getting so tired of hearing this said. Anyone that doesn't see how great Brady has played isn't watching or is biased for some reason. You don't win all those playoff games because of "system" - you win it because of great QB leadership/play. He can lose this weekend as still be spoken of with the greats. I will agree these Pats teams maybe aren't as good overall as the 70s Steelers/Cowboys or 80s 49ers or 90s Cowboys, but don't knock Brady, he would have been sucessfull on any of the great teams. He's legit.

You're way off base if you think that Jerry Jones isn't a brilliant buisness man, a good football-man, and more than benevolent and fair to his employees. IMO, he's the best owner in the NFL.

Jerry is a failure as a GM. It was his ego wanting to prove he was a real GM that immensely contributed to our fall from glory. There's no doubt in my mind that if he had hired a real NFL HC and GM when Jimmy left we never would've sniffed a 5-11 season, much less three straight.

He may be a great business man, but he's been one lousy GM

i dont have a problem with brady. I don't think he has the talent of payton manning or a young brett favre to be honest. Even in the patriots greatest victories he always seems to do only just enough. But hey..thats his strength..hes clutch. He will rarely put up big numbers but hell damn sure get you in field goal range in the final minutes..
