That's the total # of points we have lost our three games by, combined! I think we are making progress and we are still ahead of where we were projected to be. Remember, these guys were a playoff team last year and they have a great RB who we controlled, so there are some positives. I still maintain that this is loss is on the Offense, and actually, the offensive coaches for their play calling. But in the end, I still feel good about the direction the team is going.

That said, I hate this loss. :bang2:

It's also the number of points we gave up in the last 2 minutes to blow this game.

I think I'm more miserable over the lost opportunities than the actual result. Winning in Seattle is difficult. Even moreso when its raining. I didn't think this would be a win, but when the brass ring is right there, need to take it. They're playing without their star FS and 2 of their top 3 CBs when Herndon went down. We've shut down Alexander. It was right there for us.

We've made great progress over last year. We basically shut down 3 of the top offenses in the game in a row.

But we could be doing even better.

No it was seven. Bledsoe is resposible for the other 3 :bang2:

EDIT*** oops my bad thought you was just blaming the defense. :banghead:

There are several areas that we need to improve on but one glaring problem is the 2 minute D. Do we change our philosophy? Do we go to a prevent D? I think that the only thing the prevent D does is prevent you from winning.

We have a pretty solid young team to build around for the future but we need some major changes in philosophypersonnel if we are to compete for the playoffs.

Here are some thoughts:

1. Continue to play the attacking style D for the full game that has been so successful.
2. The O-Line need to finish blocks - someone else on this site mentioned that our lineman seem to stop driving their opponent after engaging on their blocks. We need to start having a good strong line push if we are going to run the ball late in games.
3. We need to get a new kicker. I was very happy that Cortez made the kick lat week but I do not see him as an elite, or even profient kicker. This is very important with the parity in the NFL these days.
4. Open up the offense. I understand that things may not always go great when we try to open the offense up but the way BP/Peyton have been calling the plays lately we surely aren't scaring anyone either. The opposing Defenses need to respect every aspect of our offensive arsenal for us to be effective.

I see us at 9-7 - too many close games this year to finish better than that. Like BP sais, "These tight games have a way of evening out"

Yep, but they're still losses, and you don't get points for being close. What's frustrating is that I haven't seen a game yet where I didn't think Dallas was the better team.

what is up with this play aggressive til the end of the game stuff? Did u miss that on the last drive by seattle, when the catch was made over the middle on pile that both williams and newman were blitzing?? That pretty aggressive. Newman pulled up and the blocker chiped Williams enough to slow him down, if newman takes the blocker maybe williams get there in time to disrupt the pass. But we were playing aggressive at the end of the game.

"I haven't seen a game yet where I didn't think Dallas was the better team."

Exactly........For me that's why each loss has been so gut wrenching

Well, we continue to play these close games, and you're gonna lose some of them.

I think we will be at 5-3 at he bye, can we really complain about that?

Tucker looked OK out there, while Pettiti looked lost for the 1st time this year. But that's to be excepted from the rookies
