Prices are always an issue, but I believe Cowboys home field attendance is based on expectations and destination travelling.

If expectations rise, less tickets are sold by season ticket holders.
If we continue to win, people will be wary to travel so far to watch their team get beat.
If we continue to win, more people (national Cowboys fans) will travel far and wide to watch them win.

If the expectant travellers ready to celebrate a Cowboys loss are replaced with Cowboys fans ready to scream their lungs out- we might have the best home field advantage in sports.

Keep winning and watch the rats leave the mothership. And watch proud Cowboys fans travel far and wide to see the world's most iconic franchise win ballgames.

In the future, it could happen. But I don't see anything changing for this year.

As a Cowboys fan living a long way from Dallas, I can attest to just how expensive it is to plan a trip to Dallas for a game. Between a non-direct flight, a crappy hotel room for two nights, and crappy seats, I'm looking at $1,000+ a person before I even get into food, drinks, transportation, etc. That's the kind of thing most people have to plan for months in advance, not a few weeks before the game. I've been itching to pull the trigger on Cowboys-Colts tickets in December (I live in Indy), but flight prices keep rising and I can't justify doing that kind of expense.

For the playoffs, I could definitely see a nice home field advantage if we can grab it. But it's probably too late to see a seismic shift this year, even if we keep winning.

you're right, which is why when we play teams without expectations the fans are loud and proud. NYG is an example.
