The Titanic set sail from England to New York. 5 Days later...we got a movie with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Hard to believe even after all these years.

The good news is they learned from their mistakes in design and safety after that. The bad news is 1500 people paid the price. Those people in the lower decks never had a prayer.

i went to high school with a guy who was big into learning about the titanic. i would say he was obsessed in a sense. he knew so much about it.

The rivets were the standard at that time

What was NOT known was that in sub freezing temperatures they became brittle.

Of course YOU would ignore the fact that hundreds of ships sailed with the same kind of rivets without incident.
