When was the last time that we had a running back rush for 1000 yards?

When was the last time we had the dedication to the run game, and the talent behind it to get to this point?

And no I'm not talking about getting 996 yards, hell I'm really not even talking about 1004 yards or anything like that.

But a legit 1000 yard rusher...?

So if 2 back have 995 yards each, would that not be dedication to the run game since neither had a "legit" 1000 yard season?

I can't really understand what you're trying to get at because your premise is flawed.

i believe we've given up on the run since 2007. We've got more talented, but we gave up on it.

And we've been living on romo's back ever since.

In 2009 the Cowboys had more rushing yards than they have had since 2001. It was the only year during that time they had over 2000 yards rushing.

And yet look at Felix Jones' and Tashard Choice's carries...

we were highly rated at running the ball, but we certainly didn't run the ball a lot compared to other nfl teams.

I think we would be better served with an every down type back over what we have had going on for the last few years, ever since Parcells came here. I miss that "identity" we were always so known for having in the backfield with #22 and #33.

I often question it. That is a long history at the position that's just recently been tossed to the side in favor of this "running back by committee".

Let's get just one guy good for about 1200-1400 yards. And of the 3 we have right now, I truly think Choice is the closest thing we even come close to having like what we need.

Ingram this upcoming offseason would be something to highly consider imo.

We were 7th in the NFL last year. That isn't giving up on anything.

We're not running it well this year. You don't keep doing stuff that is failing.

2009
2nd in the nfl in yards per rush

17th in the nfl in rushing attempts....

Thanks Jason Garrett...

None of our running backs got rushing attempts in the preseason, we actually hardly ran it at all.

The line which is already getting too old for their own good, isn't equipped to run the ball.

We're 31st in rushing attempts this year. 31st in rushing yards.

That should have Jason Garrett fired plain and simple.
