If i was the cowboys (brad talking) i would find a way to sign columbo, he is a fighter, makes the team better, and has that attitude of being tough. Cowboys had paraphrasing right here, had to make some cuts to get under the cap, so most of the players werent a surprise. They have to sign doug free, in regards to a question about getting the CB from Oakland, brad said, thats their first prioroity.

I wouldnt be surprised if cowboys go after a wr out left on the market, thats the beauty of free agency, you might get a good wr cheap (kinda like they got L Glover one year),so i wouldnt be surprised if cowboys go that way. Because think this way, paraphrasing again, who is your starting wrs, austin and now dez, who had what like 16 minutes of fame last year. Wasnt sure if brad said 16 minutes or 16 hours. But that you have to keep on dez, he has got to know his assignments, where to go, what to do, be early for all meetins, practices, etc. and thats the beauty of jason garrett, that fits his style of no nonsense and its going to be work and you had better be ready, paraphrasing again. When brad was mentioning being on time, know your assigments, wasnt sure or not if he was refering to dez or not, was breaking up on radio some, but said, thats who jason garrett is, you had better know your assignments, be ready to work, and walking off of practice field a coach may walk up to you, (probably meaning wr coach robinson) and ask you what route were u suppose to run, or what were you suppose to do in a situation, etc...

brad said he thinks cowboys want to keep newman, jenkins, scandrick but if they can get oakland cb, that much better, to make this team better, but you have so much moneyu to spend and you have to sign free first. He may want 11 million and 45 guaranteed upfront.. so you have to deal with that first.

they like ogletree, who stepped back some last year, and hopefully they can keep hurd, who is a good special teams player and 4 wr, but thats all you have at wr now.

I am glad that out of all the cuts, one player mentioned is newman. I have talked to him, and know that he has a chip on his shoulder for last year effort etc, parphasing again.

For all the griping about our safeties it's interesting that NA is our first choice to solve the secondary problems. Now if they do land NA then Newman has to be gone I'd think. Maybe the net of those two moves isn't the crippler it seems to be on the surface.

I assume Kosier will be re-signed to play LG. But who will our RG be?

brad was thinking cowboys keep newman period, and if they get NA, its gravy but cowboys might look in other areas, like wr, or OL, etc... paraphrasing here.

Right, resigning free is 1st priority, then if you can get NA, or whoever, because in free agents, after teams spend like richardson just did with panters for like 72 million, and big names go first, then other teams dont have money, then cowboys can spend, if get some more restructure or whatever,

for instance when brad mentioned wr cowboys might go after, once holmes, burress, possibly randy moss big name wrs and even roy wiliams, then you might get a wr at bargain price, possibly one of the packers wrs, thatsa a free agent

you still have jenkins out there at DL, etc, so after some teams spend big money on big name players u might be able to keep spears, or get a good dl cheap

Regarding Holland, I like many others am convinced there is no way that Holland will hold up at RG in anything other than a backup role, short stints. He's so injury prone.

He's a valuable backup. But too injury prone to be a starter IMO. Its a huge risk (IMO) if Garrett is content with Holland, Arkin & Travis Bright as RG candidates to replace Davis. In particular because he hasn't seen any of them in action in 2011.

But it's early. I'll trust the process .

And that is where this board freaks out annually. If Jerry isn't first in line signing every FA he'll be blamed for sitting on his hands regardless of the cap situation or the wisdom of signing the player to begin with.
