Malik Davis is likely RB2 right now anyway, and there is zero reason to cut your young RB3 who has some dynamic traits you can potentially build off of.

Imagine giving Deuce Vaughn a longer leash than Blue.

rookies all the time, like Trysten Hill, Taco Charlton, John Ridgeway

I think that's an over reaction. Unless he's been having trouble with fumbles that I don't know about? If not you let him continue to develop. He could be a valuable weapon for this team.
I still think Davis is probably the clear #2 because I think he is the best all around back they have behind Williams. If JW goes down who on this team do you want on the field all game if not Davis?
