Sorry I don't have the entire list but this is awesome. Very happy!

The Cowboys had 11 players selected to the Pro Bowl, including three offensive linemen - tackle Flozell Adams, center Andre Gurode and guard Leonard Davis.

The unbeaten Patriots had eight players selected, including three offensive linemen - center Dan Koppen, guard Logan Mankins and tackle Matt Light. Randy Moss, who has enjoyed a brilliant season in his first year with the Patriots, is one of the AFC's starting receivers.

Packers quarterback Brett Favre, who is enjoying a resurgence this year at age 38, is the NFC's starting quarterback. New England's Tom Brady edged out Peyton Manning of the Colts as the AFC's starter.

The other quarterbacks named to the Pro Bowl were Matt Hasselbeck of the Seahawks and Tony Romo of the Cowboys in the NFC, and Manning and Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers in the AFC.

Former Commanders safety Sean Taylor, who was gunned down last month in a botched robbery attempt at his home outside Miami, has been selected to the Pro Bowl.

Eh, it could use a refresh. That one dissolved into a Roy Williams bashing thread.

Which is to say, makes it no different than 90% of the threads on this forum.:

I agree...the other thread had run its course.

I still have an issue about Barber attending. Hoping Ellis can get in as an injury replacement. Wonder if Fred Taylor is an alternate, too.

I thought we had 12 Pro Bowlers, including RW? That's a team record, correct?

Or am I incorrect?

Technically there were 11 players voted in with Roy being selected as an alternate.

DMN assumed since Sean Taylor was voted posthumously that the next logical person in line to go would be Roy. They later changed the heading later to he "could be" going.

Ahhh . . . . o.k. So, assuming that RW does replace Taylor, our 12 Pro Bowlers would be a single season franchise record I'm assuming . . . .

That would be my guess.

I wonder if that has to do with 1) his reputation for dealing out punishment and 2) he led the NFC in rushing touchdowns last year. So fans and players/coaches now have them on their radar when they vote.

NFC Leading Rushers:

Adrian Peterson, MIN 218 carries, 1,278 yds, 5.9 ypc, 12 TDs
Brian Westbrook, PHI 254 carries, 1,191 yds, 4.7 ypc, 7 TDs

Clinton Portis WAS, 280 carries, 1,082 yds, 3.9 ypc, 8 TDs
Edgerrin James, ARI 274 carries, 1,052 yds, 3.8 ypc, 6 TDs
Frank Gore, SF 216 carries, 919 yards, 4.3 ypc, 5 TDs
Earnest Graham, TB 213 carries, 877 yards, 4.1 ypc, 10 TDs
Marion Barber, DAL 176 carries, 871 yds, 4.9 ypc, 9 TDs

Of that group, he has the second highest ypc, third most touchdowns, and by far the fewest overall carries. I don't think that makes him a lock for the team, but it's also not a huge miscarriage of justice for him to be selected.

I can't imagine why, given the play of the rest of the NFC's RBs.
And that's why he gets in. If it wasn't such a down year for NFC running backs, he probably wouldn't get in. The numbers for NFC RBs are horrific this year.

Never said it was, but while I see his value to the team, the numbers, any other year, would be mediocre.

As Superpunk suggested, I think that's more a product of his competition in the NFC this year. Other than AD, what other no-brainers are there at RB?

It's like the Oscars - you have to give them out every year, whether the competition is worthy or not.

Because he doesn't start, or because some other rb was better?
Already answered. It's not a knock on Barber. But when I'm thinking pro bowl, I certainly wouldn't look at his numbers and think this guy should definitely go. Especially if I'm basing it on past pro-bowl running backs production.

Yep, pretty much. Looking at the rest of the NFC field, you're hard-pressed to make an argument for any of them.

Barber's production hasn't been limited by opposing defenses, which is probably why so many players on those defenses voted him in.

Outside of AP, who in the NFC this year has really been impressive?
Gore had those games off because of Injury; if he had been playing more earlier its probably a cinch he is the third back. I think there is a big gap between the top 2 clearly.

Maybe, maybe not. Those same players watch sportscenter, too.

I think Barber's an impact player who provides great value to the 'boys, but I don't know that his overall production is pro bowl worthy. It's an overall down year for NFC runningbacks, I can accept that. It's not like I feel another player got robbed by him being selected. As a Cowboy fan, I'm happy he was selected.

As a football fan, color me less than impressed.

You're hard to impress.

Barber has 871 yards on less than 13 carries per game. If he had any more, he'd be getting 5.0 per carry.

Maybe. Like I said, I don't think another RB got jobbed or anything.
