11 Personnel Breakdown per NFL Matchup

And I've heard they run play action more than any other team, by quite a bit.

Heard that too but only if you sell out to stop the run. Either way, it probably doesn't matter coz McVay is likely prepared to empty his playbook Sat. We can expect to see everything he has to us from going into his house and spanking his azz. lol

This defense is up to the task. Gurley is the key. While we were all worried about Zeke missing a week and getting rusty, Gurley had basically been out for a month. Even if healthy he may struggle.

Goff hadn't been great all December. We've got this.

The real matchups in this game is going to be how we scheme against Donald and how our DBs hold up. That's what this game, I think, is ultimately going to come down to.

I can't wait to watch it all unfold.

I don't think there is any doubt the Rams will have success against the Cowboys defense, as good as the defense is. But the key to this game will be to keep the ball, control the clock and don't let the Rams get too far ahead. Keep the game close, wear them down and win in the fourth quarter. The Rams are not very good at stopping the run. If Zeke can get to the second level he will have some big runs.

The Rams are a very good football team and they are well coached. The last time these two teams played, the Rams offense was really efficient and executable flawlessly, particularly in the 2nd half. They got blockers on defenders. However, That was after Sean Lee got hurt and Jaylon Smith learned how to play the game. Now, the defense is much better. We'll see how much better Saturday night.

One big key for this game will be the crowd. Will they be noisy or quiet when the Cowboys have the ball.

Think about this: it’s normal to have approximately 60 snaps on offense per game. Rams have an explosive offense, so they’ll have more than that.

977 is almost every snap (1100) of all 16 games played. Factor in a half-dozen a game for goalline and kneel down situations, and they pretty much exclusively run 11’s. That’s insane.

From sales, I've seen projections that 30% of the crowd will be Cowboys fans. Probably extra motivated ones to fly into LA for the game.

Both teams should be hearing something, but the stadium is big and open air, so it shouldn't be a big problem for either.

That's all by zip code, though. So the local Cowboys fans are going to show up as Rams fans in that data. And the whole reason people think it's going to be a Cowboys audience is because of the locals. That 30% from the Texas/other state Cowboys fans is a really big number. Half-again the next biggest contingent from the other away teams in the playoffs.

That's the thing about play action, you don't need to sell out against the run for it to be effective.

That split second of indecision in a defensive players responsibility, especially at LB and safety, can make all the difference.

This game is going to be the biggest, and most difficult, test of young LVE and Jaylon's young careers.

But in this particularly case, there is one major exception: the Rams have an inordinate amount of fans located at a zip code relatively close to Dallas Texas. Do you think they factored in Eastern Missouri into LA’s fan quota?

Goff is 4th worst in NFL history against the blitz. Jaylon got some candy for Goff, eat it!

this^^^ but I honestly think not having Kupp is huge. Kinda like our offense trying to survive without Cooper.
