Our defense also wasn't as good that year as it is now.

But the original Roy Williams actually made a really good play in space right in fron of our seats. Never forget it!

He hasn't seen the Phillis 34. no one runs on us, I don't give a rip who they are. Bring it.

No RB has put up 100 on Dallas. Best thus far was Cadillac Williams 97 yards in week 1 other than that the best has been Ryan Grant of GB who had 79 yards. No doubt the Cowboys need to be ready for Peterson but I think Dallas can contain him.

Peterson is no more dangerous than Felix Jones.

He's a good player who fumbles too much to be more than good. He averaged a mere 4.4 yards per carry this year which is what Marion Barber ran for.

This game will be won by which team's secondary plays the best, imo. Both teams will run enough to keep the defenses honest and the secondaries will have to limit big plays and tackle well.

Minny struggled a bit giving up passing TDs. That's odd for the cover 2 which is generally more geared to give up yards but keep things in front of you. The Minny CBs do not rate very highly. --antoine winfield has struggled this year in coverage. he has allowed 6 TDs with 1 pick in a partial season.

True but peterson avgs more carries as well, he is a bigger part of their offense in terms of being the featured RB.

If we score first and show that we can move the ball effectively then blfsvre will take ap out of the game. Our offense I our bet defense. We havnt trailed in a game in weeks. This in itself makes teams one dimensional. Especially when our offense is clicking and we are winning the field position battle.

It will take more than a 1st TD to force Minn into giving up on the run. If Dallas gets out to a big lead then yes it would force any team to move away from the run. I think Minn knows that with the Cowboys pass rush they have to be able to run the ball if not then what Peppers and Carolina did to Brett will happen again but this time by the Cowboys. Good rushing keeps defense from pinning their ears back and going after the QB

He is a huge part of their offense to be sure and he is far from some slouch.

All that said, he's probably a bit overrated based on actual performance. His 18 rushing TDs are beastly but thats the one area where he really stands out. His yards per carry number is really low for a star quality guy. He is right at the top for most fumbles and when he is in the game they hand it to him right at half the time. He is not a threat at all in the passing game.

He is their top weapon but I don't think he is going to beat us unless we forget to defend the pass. He will have enough success to mean we can't just drop 8 all day.

The fear with Minny is that AP does enough to help control the clock and then Favre gets hot at the worst possible time for us.

I'm just saying I think Peterson will be a big part in what the Vikes do in this game. They can't afford to have our pass rushers all over Brett has the Panthers did to them and a good way to slow down a pass rush is by hammering it with the run. Peterson has had problems I have brought up his situations with fumbles myself but I also know he can hit the big plays and be a game changer. I think it is critical for the Cowboys to keep him under control

This is no ordinary 3-4 defense. We're a bit undersized and quicker in the middle than the traditional 3-4 defenses other ones run.

The only player that could be called undersized is Rat and he's a beast and still 300 pounds. Olshansky and Spears are huge.

In his past 7 games, Peterson has one run of 20+ yards. In his last 10 games, he broke 4.0 YPC only twice and had only 1 game of 100+ yards. Excuse me if I'm not scared.

personally I think Peterson is a litle overrated.

He fumbles alot and is a big play or no play kind of RB. He gets stopped at the line of scrimmage alot.

I totally believe its the line that is overrated not Peterson.

The fumbling is to him what it was to Romo. He will have the epiphany to fix that soon.

He is tremendously gifted but I don;t think he believes he will get or does get the lanes he needs from the line.

If he gets lanes to the 2nd and third level, he is the best in the game as long as he doesn't fight and fumble.

I think there's a few things.

1) I am not a scout but I've always preferred shorter backs with short stubby but thick arms and legs:) Hard to cause a guy to fumble with those short arms curled around the ball. And shorter guys tend to have better balance.

2) AP has always run a little too upright as he gets through the line. Eric Dickerson and he are among the very few who were considered elite while running high. It's a tough task to succeed with that running style.

3) Favre isn't going deep downfield much so teams are playing a little closer to the line of scrimmage than early in the year. This is a lot different from say the Green Bay offense.

4) What AP does really well is break tackles. He's a lot like Marion Barber in how hard he runs. But also in that he doesn't get through the line of scrimmage really quickly very often.

Yea and Dallas hadn't won a playoff game since '96 and Wade Phillips and Romo had never won a playoff game so that automatically meant the Eagulz were going to win this past Saturday right? I hate these history lessons analysts and media people give. The best team will win on Sunday. It won't be due to history or do to some odd statistic.

I agree they are meaningless stats that have nothing to do with the game.

Listening to 1130 KFAN in Minnesota and they are going on and on about how Adrian Peterson's best games this year and in his career were against 3-4 Defenses. They confidently state that they are looking forward to Minnesota playing against a 3-4 Defense.

Adrian Peterson had 180 yards against the Browns

Adrian Peterson had 143 yards against Baltimore

Adrian Peterson had 296 yards against the Chargers his rookie Season.

SF plays a 3-4, he gained 85 yds vs them. Arizona plays a 3-4, he had his worst game of the season vs them, 13 carries for 19yds.

KFAN is off their rocker if they think what he did against a lousy SD defense a couple yrs ago is any indicator of how he'll do vs our defense.
