I totally believe its the line that is overrated not Peterson.
The fumbling is to him what it was to Romo. He will have the epiphany to fix that soon.
He is tremendously gifted but I don;t think he believes he will get or does get the lanes he needs from the line.
If he gets lanes to the 2nd and third level, he is the best in the game as long as he doesn't fight and fumble.
I think there's a few things.
1) I am not a scout but I've always preferred shorter backs with short stubby but thick arms and legs
Hard to cause a guy to fumble with those short arms curled around the ball. And shorter guys tend to have better balance.
2) AP has always run a little too upright as he gets through the line. Eric Dickerson and he are among the very few who were considered elite while running high. It's a tough task to succeed with that running style.
3) Favre isn't going deep downfield much so teams are playing a little closer to the line of scrimmage than early in the year. This is a lot different from say the Green Bay offense.
4) What AP does really well is break tackles. He's a lot like Marion Barber in how hard he runs. But also in that he doesn't get through the line of scrimmage really quickly very often.
