1130 KFAN in Minnesota Musings

You should hear the Sirius NFL Blitz today. At least 2 Vikings fans have called in the last 10 minutes to say that this game will not be close mainly because of the crowd.

They are delusional.

I decided to tune into this station.

Holy crap its terrible. I feel for the people up there being stuck with this.

Paul Allen is on right now, I think he is the play by play guy for the vikings if I remember correctly.

He is just flat saying minnesota will win, which is what I expect them to say.

Man I hope they talk crap up there all week!

those 3 losses being the Giants twice (inexplicable losses and a total lay down by the Giants in the last game of the season) and the Packers (horrendous Cowboy offensive showing and equally horrendous home-town officiating).

Not much to hang your hat on here, IMO.

not at all. anything that happened against opponents are out the window anyhow. I'd probably be saying the same thing but it really is irrelevant.

The Vikings will be our hardest test of the playoffs...if we beat them I am confident we can beat either Arizona/New Orleans. But the Vikings are balance offensivley, they have speed at WR...they have a great TE...they have to oustanding RBs...the have size on both lines. Where they are vulnerable is at LBer and in the secondary. This might be a game where the Cowboys need to let Romo crank it up.

well said, I think they are good when they play balanced but if we can get them out of their balance we may kill favre in the pocket. He is always looking to throw it deep like mcnabb and that is a critical flaw.

Dont laugh, childress is just like reid. He will run more because he can but he is just like reid.

They are both extremely arrogant and think they can do anything on offense.

They will attack the interior of our defense and run the ball with peterson and taylor. It will be a much different game. But if we stop the run we might frustrate childress in just throwing all day too.

But I cant stand childress and never understood why he gets treated like some sort of tremendous offensive mind.

Every Vikings game I've seen I get the impression that they abandon the run way too early

This is fun to listen to.

This paul allen is ripping ware, spencer, adams, romo, carpenter...

Wow this guy is arrogant. Really arrogant and he is the play by play guy.

He just said romo wont do anything because he will be on his back all day.

and the topper is that he said Dallas should be very worried about mike jenkins because favre is going to go after him all day and he couldnt cover maclin with vick...

this guy is awesome. They have the better tight end too!!! awesome..

The host is clowning on Jenkins saying Favre is going to after him repeatedly

The Vikings defense is in a similar quandry as Philly's D. Only the Vikings corners aren't as good as Philly's. Winfield has been banged up this year. Vikings are weak at the LB position, much like Philly. Witten should have a big day.

I have confidence that the offense can put up points on the Vikings.

On the defensive side of the ball, Peterson is a beast, but also has a case of fumblitis. D-line needs to focus on stripping the ball any chance they get. Vikings have also abandoned the running game as of late. Not sure why.

Favre is a great QB, but I like our d-line's chances to get to him early and often. I've watched some Vikings games in anticipation of this matchup, and McKinnie's performance has really dropped off. He was world-class for awhile, but not so much these days.

Getting to Favre will be the key. Their receivers and TE are all top notch. If Favre has time to throw, the game will be a shootout.

I am listening to KFAN, which is the official station of the Minnesota Vikings.

Here is some things they are saying.

According to the host that is on now, the Cowboys are 2-3 and the Vikings are 5-1 against similar opponents.

Also, according to the host, the Cowboys run screens more then any other team besides the Patriots in the NFL.

The host also says that Brad Childress talks to Andy Reid quite a few times and will probably get some tips.
Vikings are 4-1 GB, GB, NYG, SEA, and the one loss CAR. Cowboys 2-3 was SEA, CAR, and the three losses NYG, NYG, GB. Looking at the Vikings schedule from the other post, the vikings had one of the easiest schedules in the league. Arizona and the saints probably had pretty easy ones to.

I love the whole "common opponents" nonsense. Using that logic, no one should have won the East. The Iggles owned the Gnats, the Gnats owned the Cowboys and the 'Boys owned the Iggles....
So, let the Vikes use the "common opponents" (Giants and Packers) all they want. The difference is, the 'Boys are peaking at exactly the right time, and the Vikes have been suspect as of late.

I cannot wait until Sunday!!

Brett Favre threw more passes behind the line of scrimmage than Romo did.

Well, I know that one of the common opponents was GB and the Vikes played them early in the season when they were not playing very well. In fact, GB was playing the best ball late in the season and I think would have given the Vikes a run for their money. The other were the Giants who had nothing to play for at the end of the season and basically mailed it in and gave them the win. I see nothing relevant about common opponents during the playoffs. It is about who is playing the best ball at this MOMENT.

I like our chances against them. I think it will be a tough game, they have a physical defensive front 7, so I don't think we will run through them as easily as we did against the Eagles. But their db's could be suspect, Cutler gashed them for 4 td's a few weeks ago.

My Biggest concern is with the Vikings Defense line, I don't think there WR's, while good, match Philly's and theit Secondary with the exception of a bang up Winfield isn't all that.

Not sure who is on right now, but he really believes the Cowboys will lose. Here is some of his thoughts:

Vikings' offensive line is not very good

The Cowboys can rush the passes

The Cowboys have pitched shutouts in back to back games

The Vikings are having trouble running the football and protecting the Quarterback

They have a turn style at Left Tackle.

It frightens me when people rely on the stadium to beat a team it is frightening and a red flag

Let them play the screen, that will hesitate their pass rushers and give Romo time to look downfield.

Here's the deal. The last five games are what matters now. Back in Septenber and October what these teams did doesn't have any influence on what they are doing now and their success.

How will Minny cover our receivers?

If they play man we win because someone will always be open. If they play zone Tony cuts them up like a surgeon.

We have the better defense and the better offense over the last five games.

Their house means something. But by the third quarter, it will have less significance.

I just called in and talked about jenkins but they cut me off before i heard what they said, can anyone recap what they said about my comment thanks lol.

Hmmm, I probably was looking at a Merril Hodge video or talking to my Real Estate Agent at the time.

Were you the guy that called in and was saying it was a bad idea to throw at Mike Jenkins?
