I ran a bunch of draft simulators today and in almost all of them I drafted Styles at 28. The pick at 15 usually yielded Love, Mauigoa, Saddiq, or Woods. I usually went with Love or Mauigoa for value.

My point being it seems like we could get Styles at 28. Even if not, CJ Allen from Georgia would almost certainly be available, and he would start day 1 here.

In this case, I would probably trade down 15 a few spots for an extra 2nd or 3rd and take Woods and Styles at 28.

I suspect that Styles goes before pick 28.

If OTs like Mauigoa or Fano fall to 15, I would take them too. Cut Steele save $ while upgrading is great. (In most draft mocks they are top ten though - see Draftek for example.)

Next if a top CB is there Iike Delane. Yes.

OT and CB positions need upgrades, cost a lot, and play for 2 contracts. Max value from yr 1st rounders is probable.

If that is not available,
Styles at 6’4 250 is unique. Safety moved to LB that can be an effective edge rusher in passing situations. 33 1/4 inch arms. 4.48 40.

He maximizes your Dline investment on run downs. Plays the TEs and blocks up passing lanes and can rush from the DE position.

Would you prefer saving $30M on Pickens and drafting a WR in round one? Spend the $30M on fixing this horrendous Defense.

Tag and trade Pickens, I would settle for an early 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Or this just to logical.

If you look at our 2023 offense without Pickens vs our 2025 offense with Pickens, it is not much different in results.

NFL draft 2026: please no offensive players in top three rounds, assuming we move our 2nd first rounder for more picks. If Sonny Styles is on the board with our first pick, he must be selected as his position is of the greatest need. He is so unique, no one matches his skill set which is in dire need. He is an oversized Overshown, a former safety with LVE size. He is a thumper who does not miss tackles. I do not care who else is on the board.

As to the 2nd first rounder, I do not mind trading for both a 2 and a 3, but they have to be top 12. Or trading down once and then a second time. Extra draft capital is needed. Need a Darren Woodson safety-type (a 2nd rounder in 1992) and a CB besides Styles.

2nd round rules: no player with a history of injuries or surgeries, or known anatomical defects or criminal arrests; no nut cases, or druggies to re-educate; only choir boys off the field and ferocious lions on the field.
