Bad timing or does it matter

Last year 12-4 got us a trip to Lambeau and a possible trip to SEA. Two of the toughest places to play.

This year the Skins go 9-7 and get GB at Home and trips to CAR and ARI.

It seemed that there was a lot of hand wringing about the WAS loss causing us to travel but is this year any better for WAS.

You still have to beat some pretty good teams to go to the Super Bowl. A bye is always nice but 12-4 would not have earned a bye this year either.

What is the point your tryign to make? Division winners always play a home game. 13-3 last year gets you HFA through playoffs. We played the Lions at home (WC round) and then had to go to GB. 13-3 would have kept them at home and a bye in WC week

Everyone was going crazy last year trying to get the right match-ups for the playoffs.

But even at 9-7 WAS has a pretty good draw.

My point is that we should always play for the Division and getting into the tourney. I like that Div winners get to host a playoff game over a Wild Card team.

It only takes a couple good games to get to the NFCCG.

You always want to win the division obvioulsy - that gaurantees a spot, but after that you want HFA and a bye. You never want to play an extra game where anything can happen

nope, gotta be in it to win...
tough road proves you belong when you win....
I want to have confidence in the SB, not feel uncertain, or like we're gonna get slaughtered.

I was thinking more about the difference between our 12-4 team and the Skins 9-7 team. It is obvious we were a better team, but does it really matter if you don't get the bye,

If Romo stayed healthy and we got in at 7-9, we could still beat GB at home.
SEA's run began with a 7-9 playoff team that got a win and carried over momentum to the next year.

Take out SEA, and replace that with CAR...

have won anything yet... but a pretty good roll going.

I was talking about the 2010 Seahawks but the Carolina team is similar.

Seahawks didn't go right from 7-9 Division winners to the SB but it was the start.

Wouldn't have mattered. Even healthy we would've blown it in the playoffs again.

Now that it is over winning the division and losing game one doesn't seem so great but I would still take it over not making the playoffs at all.

I am OK with bringing Romo back when we still had a slim chance.

It's amazing how many people seemed, to me at least, root for the Commanders. I will never understand that.

The rivalry is dead..has been for a long time. Monday night miracle or whatever they call it was the last time I hated the Skins. I can honestly say I hate the Eagles and Giants more. The Skins are like the Cardinals back in the day to me.

I thought last year set up perfectly for us seeing we didn't get HFA. We got to play Detroit who never wins big games and a very shaky pass defense. At home. Then you got to go play GB who had Rodgers playing on one leg. Playing in Lambeau these days in the playoffs is not as daunting as it used to be. In fact, Packers seem to play better on the road in the playoffs in the last 10 or so years. GB was just begging for us to give them a reason to lie down last year. After that,we would have went back to Seattle. A team we dominated a few months earlier and our team was designed to beat them. Our OL bullied them and we were able to shove the ball down their throat. We were 12-4. There was no one we should have feared playing in the playoffs last year. We were one of the best teams in the league and the hottest going into the playoffs.

Green Bay at home with Rodgers under center is tougher than Detroit at home with Stafford, who is a career loser.
