Schotty wants to run the ball and have a balanced attack. I don't believe there is a CB1/CB2 duo that will be able to shut down CeeDee and Pickens. Dak needs to have time to throw to them.

However, I'm worried about Guyton and Steele's pass pro.

Enter in 12 personnel. I don't see Ferguson as a good run blocker, but Schoon (250lbs) and Spann-Ford (270lbs) should be.

I can also see them being used to chip elite edges to help out Guyton and Steele in the passing game.

My guess is that all 3 of these TEs will make the 53.

Looking for a bounce back year from Ferguson in his contract year. With the attention CeeDee and Pickens will get he should feast.

Can't say I would argue against your points.
Not sure how much 12 they will run or not.
I think that will be determined by the pass block abilities of Steele and Guyton this season. I think they both improve substantially from last season.
Agree that Ferg will have a good year.

Dak plays his best in 12 personnel but supposedly Mingo blocks well so they can do 11 personnel as well. The formations should be interesting.

12 personnel is great for pass blocking, but you only have 2 WRs out there. If the TEs chip the DEs it greatly reduces their ability to get out into the pattern.
I do like the unpredictability of it IF they run alot of misdirection and multiple other plays from it.

However if they just keep it vanilla and predictable I'm just for very limited use.

I'm very intrigued with Mingo. He's a big-bodied WR that runs good routes for his size. I'd presume he'd be a good run blocker since he's bigger than most DBs.

His camp battles with Tolbert for WR3 will be one to watch in Oxnard.

The Cowboys offense will probably look like the 2020 Seattle Seahawks combined with blocking schemes of the Cardinals. It should be better then we had last season.

Great points. The Cardinals had the 7th best rushing attack (~144ypg). Their leading rusher? James Conner (6'1, 233lbs**) averaged 4.6ypc.

**Now we know why they drafted Phil Mafah (6'1, 234lbs). :omg:

Cowboys gonna pound teams. With two elite WRs, teams cannot stack the box to stop it.

I was watching Skywalker Steele and Footsdaking on YouTube this morning and they mentioned this a lot of about them using more 13 personnel, I wish someone would put up a diagram of what this looks like, as well as 20 personnel or whatever other personnel groups there are

You must think the Cowboys are coached by bumbling idiots. If you see something I promise you the coaches see it too. It's either that or you are challenging for the title Captain Obvious. Guyton will be fine with a year of experience at LT under his belt. We don't need to reassign a TE to supplement the LT blocking task.

Mingo runs good routes? Who's saying that?

Basically, Mingo is a sturdy WR who is slow out of his stance and can't create separation. He was rated a 5th round pick. CAR taking him in the 2nd never made sense. I honestly can't see what anyone sees in him, especially the teams that overdrafted or traded for him.

We need a WR3. Maybe Flourney?

For one I wouldn't worry about what happened last year and worry about what might happen this year just let the thing play out and we get to watch it and be entertained..

Yes, you would have been blind to not see the fact that our weaknesses was on the outside, it was twofold;
I don't know how many penalties are tackles got let alone our tight ends were holding all the time, they couldn't block, that went on all last year and so usually what you try to do is cover up your weakest tackle with a tight end and get help over there and they were just as bad there's a reason Mike mccarthy's gone, there's a reason this entire coaching staff outside of Brian Schottenheimer is absolutely gone...
they're rebooting the schemes and the vision,
so I'm not worried about it what personnel they run ,here's the thing execute I don't care what's called it needs to execute, there's a lot of blame can go around for last year but we saw a lot of this in 2020 it was unstable... we had all the injuries, no run game, we lost Prescott we had the whole thing it was exactly the same...
If I'm on the oppositions defense I don't care what Pickens and CD Lamb appeared to look like I'm still going to test the old philosophy you're going to do what you can to stop the run at all costs and you're going to force Prescott and this offense to prove they can be dangerous in the run game if they can block it up long enough.... They're not going to just look at what we have on the roster and just like go into past coverage mode every play they're going to test the team by stopping the run and forcing them to throw and we're going to need to throw them recently in their backing off the run... The problem with the line was you can't establish a run game it was too easy to stop the run therefore they played a lot of zone a lot of coverage and they really made it like throwing through a minefield everyone said it's Prescott can't throw against zone coverage well not many quarterbacks came when you have pretty much everybody out in coverage if you could use a 4 man line to get pressure and stop the run on the way to the quarterback,,,
That's a huge problem it was apparent to everybody we met that that's what you could do if you had a pretty good defensive line you can handle our offensive line stop the run and get to the quarterback with four guys I'm not saying that was every game on every snap but if you were strong enough up front you could shut down the run on the way the quarterback he was that easy...

And we bounced back in 2021, and I believe we'll bounce back in 2024... It's why I watch games i'm not worried about what may or may not happen or what happened a year before because every year's a new year it's a one off every game is different during the year a lot of you guys just overly focus on stuff just let's see how it plays out that's the fun part of sports you don't really know the outcome it's the ultimate reality TV show...

I thought we should have done this last year when Cooks was out and we basically didn't have a #2 WR. But with Pickens here now, I doubt it. They seem to love Tolbert for some reason.
Jerry covets the players he picks. Only reason that makes sense. Tolbert was never going to be more than a #3 WR. Why? If you listen to the scouts, they'll tell you: "Single speed runner w/ no explosive element to his game." And "Doesn't show much sudden snap to his breaks."

Interpretation: Won't be able to create separation consistently at the NFL level. Can't get open.

This is really simple stuff.
