13-14 we lose

50 yd field goals aren't gimmies for any kicker on any field. They're gonna be missed now 'n then. Don't worry so damn much. Even the almighty Vinatieri missed a 46yarder in the SB against the Panthers in the 1st half if I remember correctly. So yah... with the way McBriar is punting and the way our Defense is playing as long as the offense gives them a lil rest... Not something I'm going to worry about.

you're about to see the first 5'3" 105lb kicker in the history of the nfl
105lbs? thats like half of me! lol how old are you? and are you 3 years removed from high school

Vanderjagt is 8-10 on the year, in line with his career and better than we have seen in many years. -idiotic thread-

You also have to take into consideration that the field was in poor condition. There were more divots then when I play golf. Also it is not a chip shot field goal. Rackers kicked 6/7 from 50+ last year and He is 0-4 this year. I would start chicken little thread when he misses 30 yard FG like the preseason game this year.

vanderjagt has to make that 49 yarder

everytime he lines up I just think he gets jinxed now because they always hype his "most accurate kicker in nfl history"

i wonder what happens if we end up losing 13-14, bill leave him at home?

it was a 48-49 yd fg, and he hit the upright with it at that...those are not gimmee's...he's only missed one other fg all year...

he looked like he was going to be a problem in preseason, but I think he's fine...you cant count on nailing every 48 yd fg, but I think we can finally count on making the 25-40 yd fg's...and we havent been able to do that in years

John Fox thanks for calling the timeout right before your team blocked our kick. :laugh2: I'm not blaming Vandy on that but talk about your bad timing. Fox said at the press conference he called timeout because they thought there were 12 men on the field however they only had 11 so the timeout was not needed.

LOL are you seriously knocking a kicker for missing a 49 yard fielg goal in the 1st quarter? Come on! Lets not forget his squib kick was perfect and generated a game ending turnover.

It looked like a few players stopped when they heard the whistles Im not so sure they would of blocked it if the whistle didnt blow.

vandy is 8-10 on the year. A pretty good percentage.
Both misses hit the upright.
Give the guy a break.

I'm not so sure about that, it was pretty much bang/bang so I don't think the players reacted to the whistle until after the fact.

49 yards is a long kick -- great kickers might make that 60% of the time.

i was asking because you have to be 3 years removed from high school to join the NFL

It would only have taken 1 player to react to the whistle to open a lane for the rusher. It looked to me like a number of them did.

I don't think people understand the concentration and accuracy required in doinking the upright twice in one year.

Anyone can knock it through a 20 foot wide void. It takes a special kicker to nail those uprights consistently.

One might say that only the most accurate kicker in NFL history can do such.

Was he making a point? HUH? HUH? I bet you he told Romo... "Watch this."

THUMP... DOINK! "Told ya. 87.5%"

That miss was huge because it gave Carolina an opportunity; still it was a 48 yard attempt and those are by no means automatic.

What I find totally wierd is that his crazy bouncing kickoffs have resulted in two big plays for us already this season.

It is pretty funny, though, that after all the hue and cry over the kicking problem, the Cowboys haven't yet played a game decided by fewer than 7 points.

Yeah but thats the point of the previous posts.

We will have a game that will be decided by Vandy.

87% accurate does not take into account that he missed BIG kicks. What is his average in momentum changing kicks or game winning kicks?

anyone know?
