13 QBs drafted - none by Cowboys

i would have thought that a fourth qb would be signed in the undrafted free agent period since dak will probably not be ready for mini camp or ota drills. i get why they did not draft a qb now since a fifth round pick was traded for milton.

It was strange they went into TC last year with only 3 QB's.
And now it may happen again.

I know they want to give the backups more reps, and a 4th takes those away.
However, it is just stupid to think that way. What if a 4th QB outshines the other 2.

Still a lot of time to add one. As they will have rookie camp, and invite one, but last year it was just to have an arm throwing. Not a serious contender to make the roster for TC.

That’s the answer, the fourth QB comes in during rookie camp.

Being tied to Dak long term is about as dumb as it gets. They'll sign someone for a camp arm soon. Freaking Dak maxed out long ago. Only the Joneses can't see that obvious fact. Does anyone here actually believe Dak is going to improve/get better? Laughable.

13 QBs were drafted. The majority were drafted by teams who already have starting QBs. Those teams are addressing depth in their QB room or looking for a development prospect.

Cowboys have the weakest QB room in the league. Our #2 QB right now didnt even make our weak roster last season. Our #3 is a player another team drafted, then dumped after 1 season. As for our starter......

There was some good value at QB in the later rounds.

The clear conclusion is that the Cowboys dont value the QB position. They think they are more clever than the rest of the league - and win without a good QB.

The Cowboys were right not to waste a pick on a QB. They have Dak and are paying him a fortune that they can't get out of. The traded for Milton who is young and can possibly develop. Why draft another developmental QB?

Jerry loves you. This is his approach to a tee. Seems to work…I’m mean look at all the investment they’ve made in the position the last 30 years. They put no stock in the most important position on the field. You have to roll the dice every few years on a later round project if there are no franchise QBs available. I hope the idiots trade up and grab a possible franchise QB in the next couple years. Give away the farm if need be. We’ll be in the top 12 drafting the next couple years. You can take that to the bank. We are and have been the laughing stock of the league for many years.

I fixed it for you. We should have drafted a QB, even in later rounds just for development. the better teams do that. They don't put all their eggs in one basket or in retread baskets. They're constantly trying to develop eventual successors or at least trade bait.

Nope. That is not what happened. Jerry dealt with his dad. Jerry dealt with Micheal Irvin and Dez Bryant. We have never shied away from brash players. The reason he's not a cowboy is bc Jerry is contractually and emotionally married to Dak as his QB , and he can't have the pressure and stress of another QB on the roster pushing for playing time. He doesn't want Dieon in his ear trying to sweet talk him to play his son. Thats why our back-up next year is a no-name , no rep 2nd year player with zero expectation of playing much.

Sheduer dropped bc he interviewed poorly and most teams don't want a celebrity back-up Qb. Cleveland is the perfect landing spot for him. They can't wait to part ways with Deshaun Watson and Sheduer should get a big opportunity there.

The biggest mistake was not getting a decent WR in the draft.

What good would it have done to draft a QB high to challenge Dak? The Cowboys aren't benching him.

There weren't any WR's left on day 3 that the Cowboys thought were better than what they had. So why waste a pick on one?

Who else runs a team like this? They added Milton. So what? He was added b/c we need someone to get the preseason snaps and he poses no threat to Dak. They literally passed on a QB they know and love with a first round grade in round 5 ....twice to protect Dak from any potential QB controversy. Morons.

Sanders would not push Dak or any other halfway decent starter in this league.

He’s battling for QB3 in Cleveland and only because Watson is likely done.

In a extremely weak QB class, Dallas did draft a QB with a 5th round pick. It just happens to be a guy drafted last year. As to Milton, he would have been rated above most of those 13 QBs drafted this year.

I just don't understand the hate for Dak. Like him or not, he is still rated as a top 10 QB. Has he gotten where we want us to be, no but how many Super Bowls has Jackson or Allen or a number of others won. Zero. Those that hate him would still hate him if he got into the Super Bowl the next 3 years and lost.

None of you remember the Quincy Carter years. If we go 12-5 again and make the playoffs I'll be damn glad, if we do more, I will be most gracious, and if we make the Super Bowl the elated, winning it again would be absolutely great.

Rather have a winning team every year than bottom feeding all the time.
