1310 AM The Ticket's Parody of Pacman Jones Interview on Micheal Irvin Show

that was dumb. There is a reason why ESPN is killing Fox affiliates in most markets. Whoever hires their local people for the Fox affiliates just sucks from the various onshow people to the producers they are awful..

They are not a fox affiliate. They are not even close in ratings to the ticket.

the ticket buries espn in this market.

That was dumb but the Irvin impersonation was hilarious.
But Pacman?
That was stupid.

Actually, 1310 AM Ticket is not a Fox Affiliate at All! There is a Fox Affiliate Sports Radio Station in Dallas Called: 1460 AM Fox Sports Radio KHFX. But, I don't ANYBODY who Listens to that Radio Station.

Second, Of all 1310 AM The Ticket has Whooped ESPN 103.3 FM in The Ratings since ESPN Radio Came to Dallas in 2001.

I live in south texas so i figured that they were the fox affiliate but everything ive heard about that station is they are more interested in playing garbage like that then talking sports.

I miss Jen Engels show.

She was great morning radio.

Im not a big fan of her column though.

Trust me. The Ticket has nothing to be jealous of over at the failing ESPN 103.3 FM. Only a desperate radio outlet would have Pac Man on for so many segments.

AND if your not convinced that The Ticket could care less about Bristol-Radio via Arlington, TX, then just check out the ratings books for the last 3 years.

I think the only thing the tickets ratings proves is there is a high amount of ADD for sports fans in the great state of Texas

Not so much. The ratings prove that The Ticket can do what the ESPN Radio affiliates of the world can do, but those same network affiliates can't do what The Ticket does. What one person might term as "high amount of ADD <Attention Deficit Disorder> for sports fans," another would call it more evolved brand of Sports Talk Radio. Just ask ESPN Radio General Manager, Bruce Gilbert in Bristol at ESPN Headquarters. As a former Program Director at The Ticket 1310AM, he'll tell you the same thing.

I can see why some people would like the ticket over ESPN radio.

Personally the ticket is just not my style of radio unless they are talking sports.

The thing that I dont like about ESPN Radio is they are like Al Davis. They give someone a year to make it work and if it doesnt work they are replaced.

The Michael Irvin show has the potential to be great but as long as Kevin Kiley is on there its going to be what it is.

I wish they could get Mike and big Nate on a show with someone like Estridge helping them host it.

And therein lies the problem. It's their formula that's failed. Your last post just alluded to it. They have personalities like Irvin, Nate, Hansen or even Galloway, to an extent, that illicit response based on their polarization. Most people love'em or hate'em. Yet their PDs think that you have to have the Kileys and Estridges of the world to help the host the show. The Ticket knows that you don't need that kind of bus driver co-host. They end up trying to throw out their own brand of "Hot Sports Opinions." The problem is that nobody cars what Brian Estridge thinks. They should just let "personalities" do their thing.
This market doesn't relate to those blow hard generic radio co-host dudes, in my opinion.

I heard it live and it did come across as jealousy, pure and simple.

The Ticket is losing their ratings lead by the way.

Michael Irvin's show is a new one and The Ticket spent a great deal of money to become the official Cowboys station then saw ESPN hire Irvin and Nate to steal some of that Cowboys thunder for a lot less money.

ESPN 103.3 is still a mess in many time slots and I find Michael's show to be quite boring honestly but The Ticket is childish wayyyy too often for my tastes.

Right now it is generally listen to the lesser of two evils depending on which shows are on.

That's not true. I can quote you the ratings share in any demo you want right now. In the last books, The Ticket's lead over ESPN is embarrassing still. I'm in the Television Production industry and have access to all ratings books. Your impression that the The Ticket's ratings are slipping is not an accurate one.

I always get a giggle that I would not want to have been missing, real hard, at the people who are telling us how badly the ticket sucks, at the same time they're citing something they just heard on it.

:p:

Me too. That show is 50/50 on if its going to be entertaining or not.

Maybe 70/30 actually.

How do you make someone like Michael Irvin seem boring?

Answer: Kevin Kiley
