The Cowboys defense forced 17 total quarterback pressures on Russell Wilson Sunday afternoon. Sam Williams led the way with four, and Kenny Clark was right behind him with three. Seven of those pressures were labeled as quick pressures, which means they came in less than 2.5 seconds.

Does anyone have the stats via PPF paying membership?
give the Giants credit, they played well. They cannot play any better guys. We took all their best shots and still won. Thats usually a sign of a good team. Winning when you play poorly. I'll take the W.

The Giants just hung a 40 burger on us and you're posting QB pressure stats?

These numbers are coming from NFL.com. PFF lists us at 13 pressures this week, NFL.com 15, however when broken down by individual pressures they add up to 17. This is due to multiple guys getting pressure on the same play which does make the pressure rate sounds slightly better.

The interesting part I see is that PFF has Sam Williams at 1 pressure, NFL.com gives him 4. There is some subjectivity to pressure numbers but its odd to see the two sources that different....to the film I go.

I expected more pressure by our d-line than we had against the Eagles because the Giants o-line is one of the worst in the league so even our bad d-line had some success.

The fact that their d-line got 20 against us isn’t really a surprise either because our o-line is playing poorly and they have a good D-line

Basically, the only line group worth a damn right now is the Giants. It’s a good thing that Dak, despite being under attack all game, still had a lot of success.

After looking at the tape I can see where the issue is.

Sam Williams had 1 very legitimate pressure. He also had a late pressure (4+ seconds), but it was on the last play INT so I would probably give it to him. He also had three other "pressures" that are debatable...I don't feel like making a full video right now, but here are the screenshots of what I think are the debatable plays in question that NFL.com is likely saying are pressures.

Williams got depth and forced Russ to step up, but the Tackle just pushed him back out of the play.....I wouldn't say this is a true pressure, but it depends on how you want to grade I guess. If the DTs get any sort of push up the middle restricting the QB from stepping up it could be a bigger play, but the RT forced Williams to go around Russ. You'd like to see Sam Williams actually get around the outside should of his man and turn the corner to consider this a true pressure IMO.

Again he gets push....but I wouldnt say this is pressure. Gotta beat your man and not just get depth.

This is the INT in OT....The pressure came a little late, but I think you have to give this one to him. In the face of the QB as he throws, I'll take that every time.

This is the Kenny Clark sack.....Williams got an initial push but never really defeated his man. I wouldn't count this as a bad rep, but I can't give him credit for a pressure either.

Overall not very impressed with Sam Williams in this game at all. I could be missing one as I went through the game tape pretty quick, but I only counted 1 legitimate undeniable pressure from Williams in 30 pass rush attempts. I'd also give him credit for a 2nd on the INT if I'm doing the grading.

Sam needs to back up his talk.

That guy never had more than 13 when he was here. 20 is a stretch. Maybe in GB but not even close when he was here.
Last year he had 12 in 13 games and was pouring on at the end. I think he was a cinch for 15/16 if he hasn’t gotten hurt.

We’ll see how the packers use him and what that means for sack totals later in the year
