Let’s go with the very real possibility that WRs Ridley and Moore, RT McGlinchey, Gs Hernandez and Wynn, DTs Payne and Hurst, LBs Evans and Vander Esch, Safeties Reid and Bates, and maybe a top CB are still on the board. Second round is ripe for WR, OG, DT, LB, and S, but we see plenty of guys who can help us at #19, yet not one “dream” player ...

Trade down once, maybe even twice, depending on what’s still available. Get a first round player and load up on picks that allow you to target 2-3 second round guys or trade for better picks in next year’s draft.

I’d love to get any one of the guys above, possibly a second from the list at the top of round 2, and still have our number 50. This may be the year to add multiple solid players who make the team better rather than sitting and taking the highest on your board if he’s not a sudden impact guy.

in your scenario....Calvin Ridley.
Isaiah Wynn tho.....hard to pass up.
But I dont see them passing Ridley if he is on the board.

If we can trade back a few spots and still get one of several players we want, why not? But, if there's a lone player the front office really wants at # 19 and he's there, take him and don't look back.

I still see us trading back into the late 1st or 2nd round
Get 3 picks in the top 50.....each a position of need that can pay immediate dividends

WR G LB...... I know everyone is screaming safety.... Not me

If that list is available, you take Da'Ron Payne at #19.

A 1st round DL is twice as likely to be a consistent starter than a 2nd round DL. (58% likely vs 28% likely) The odds say you'd need to use two 2nd round picks just to even the odds anyway.

That would be my strategy.

If we have a trade partner i'm moving down and im getting as much ammo as possible to get back into the 2nd round as many times as possible.
