How many zoners were around for 1974? Coming off a division title, starting
1-4. Finished 8-6. They didnt make the playoffs but there was only 1 wild card. Next year made the Super Bowl. But they had a coach named Landry then.

What's your point? Are we naming ourselves next years superbowl champs even earlier every season now? This team has a lot if work to do.

8-6 and no playoffs would be the worst thing that can happen to this team. We need 4-12 or something like that to get a better draft pick and knock us into reality. We are NOT close to becoming a SB team next year, especially with a new coaching staff.

I was around and that was a disappointing season. As for this team and what the future is we will find out. They have a big game with NY this coming weekend and frankly I don't think any of the NFC East teams look that great right now if we can drop NY to 4-3 that would be a big boost to this club

No one said anything about them going to the SB next year, in fact I inferred it cant happen because we dont have a HOF coach. You have the counting part down, now back to Seasme Street for you, for the reading lesson.

I wasn't around but we are missing a couple of things to make something like that happen.

An O-Line that plays consistent and a HC that can get this team turned around.

That team was old with the exception of the backfield. Bullett was losing speed, Lilly was done, etc. Next year came the Dirty Dozen and that fast Landry rebuilt. Sadly 1975 was his last great draft. Never that close again.

Not to mention an owner who knew his limitations.
