Now those were better days.
I am sure many on here would find ways to whine.

Now those were better days.
Its funny that its not even a scoring play but it might be my favorite, most memorable play in team history. It was the "We're baaack" play.

Oh, man. If we did a game day thread on this game, the whining would be off the charts. We expect perfection now and the Cowboys were far from perfect.I am sure many on here would find ways to whine.![]()
Young was becoming the 49ers Danny White until they bought an entirely new defense in 94 to compete against the Cowboys including our own star LB.one of the stories no one talks about with those niners teams is that steve young didn't really play well. The week before he struggled against the defending nfc champion Commanders and then he gave the ball up and made mistakes against Dallas.
Young needed the organization to skirt the rules in 94 to load up on defense to give them a chance to win.
That was the game everybody said, "whoa, this young Cowboys team is really good."
That 49ers team was one of the best of all time, and Dallas used to thump them with authority.
Most excited I've ever been for any Cowboys game.
the 92 niners were not one of the best of all time. That best of all time niners group got beat at home by the giants in the 90 nfc championship game and knocking Montana out and effectively ending his career. He had the other injury and young just took over and was nowhere near as good as montana.
good niners team but not as good as that run they had for the three peat.
Since it is Nfc Championship time here is this game, not sure if they win this or not.
But fun to see this cowboy team. Madden and Curt doing the broadcast.
Madden said he didnt let his kicker warm up if he had first down at the 10 lol, which is funny.
May have to watch it on youtube.
Don’t know how anyone could forget the Cowboys winning the 92 NFC title game. This is the 93 Super Bowl. Do you remember who won that game? Lol
It was even sweeter if you were a fan like myself and had just got on board the wagon around 1980 (i was about 10 years old) --- the 80's were ROUGH for a Cowboys fan, and right when the whole thing went down in flames in the 1988 and 1989 seasons, things started looking up almost each week until the 92 season when they won that Super Bowl -- and then it was like the Cowboys were on top of the mountain permanently (at least, that's what it felt like at the time for a few years). The good old days. If you saw this, you cherish it forever. I dont think many of us will see it again in our lifetimes.
I certainly remember that 93 super bowl --- i was amazed at how, at the end of the game, the announcers sounded like they were part of a funeral procession and all sad because Buffalo lost their 4th straight super bowl (as opposed to giving Dallas props for repeating). It really gnawed at me
I don't disagree about the niners ignoring rules to win it all in the 94 season, but Young was good QB. I think his mobility really made him dangerous, but he ran up on teams that started figuring out how their defense should play against that west coast style of offense. Same thing happened to Landry with a lot of his innovations, other teams eventually figured them out over time. At least that's my opinion. Young sure lit up the Chargers in that Super Bowl, and then went the next year with half the niners team injured and beat Dallas during the regular season (i remember that well because big mouths like Michael Irvin were talking smack about playing the injury-hampered niners team and it blew up in their faces).one of the stories no one talks about with those niners teams is that steve young didn't really play well. The week before he struggled against the defending nfc champion Commanders and then he gave the ball up and made mistakes against Dallas.

49ers and Packers played for NFC title last year, GB in NFCCG this year....whither the Cowboys?Me too. Those Niners/Cowboys games back in the day were truly special.
I long for an NFL where the top teams in the NFC are the Cowboys, Niners and Pack, and the AFC sucks. So very long ago now...
For sure. it always seemed to me like that Buffalo team was entiretly geared towards manhandling a west coast offense (with their sights set squarely on the 49ers), and unlucky for them, they never played anything like that in any of those Super Bowls. Their bad luck, my celebration. It happens every year someway or anotherI’m sure those who weren’t Cowboys fans felt some sympathy for Buffalo losing their 4th straight Super Bowl. Hard to imagine any team having that bad of luck.
nah, the internet wasn't around back thenI am sure many on here would find ways to whine.![]()
