This stuff really takes me back.

TBH, I didn't think until now that the '95 Niners were a "great" team... but look back at their games, I'm thinking they were better than we think they were, and only failed to get a shot at the super bowl because Holmgren knew their team inside and out.

Also, I don't remember the cowboy defense being as bad they have it ranked here (13th)... but again, you have to consider all the players who left the '92, '93 teams through free agency, especially on the defensive side.

Also, Emmit Smith completely destroys all other RBs of that season (he did run for 25 TDs, after all)... but what really gets me is Michael Irvin posting the highest DPAR of any WR of the DVOA era. It just goes to show you what a 3rd down machine he was back in the day.

Also, if you don't know what the stuff here means, feel free to browse around that website for a bit to aquaint yourself, it's pretty interesting (though I wouldn't take it as gospel, per se).

What else is amazing is that we attempted only 494 passes that season -- the third-fewest in the league. Our No. 2 wide receiver caught only 38 passes, and our No. 3 receiver caught only six. And yet Irvin caught 111.

Our D was getting vulnerable due to losses; deion really camoflauged that.

And that year was the last one that our O line dominated= and even then you could start to see cracks.

That's when the hemoraging started. Deion's contract negated any ability to sign quality depth.

Once the starters went down in 96, we were reduced to PS players and Deion trying to play 3 positions.

I guess Irvin knows what Carolina's Steve Smith feels like.

That was an incredibel stat as Irvin was not a burner. All heart!!!

Yet critics say Emmitt was overrated and Irvin wasn't HOF worthy.

Go figure.

And everyone knew where Aikman was going that season too. Which makes it even more impressive.

The perfect players for that offense. That team is the best all time IMO. I'm talking about that 92-95 team. The only team that executed nearly as well was the early 60s Packers.
