The list is the guys NFLDS has in the range. Collins is unlikley to drop. I get that.

I have not watched them yet. I wanted to see if we could share ideas here rather than me try to dominate the discussion.

NFLDS is rated as a 3rd rounder by NFLDS and Draftbreakdown has no recent footage so he is omitted. He's been up and down lately so if anyone has full game stuff I would love that. I try to stay away from highlights because its clearly biased footage.

Collins is a pure SS. He's probably better than anything we have at the position now, but not enough of an upgrade to waste a 1st on.

Randall has a nose for the ball and the speed to play as the single high safety. He's very aggressive, sometimes to his detriment in trying to jump routes. I have concerns about his build. Small for the position weighing in at around 195lbs I believe. I think he's a good pickup if he's there in Rd 3

Haven't watched the other 2.

Ant Harris is about the only S in this draft I would consider but I would prefer him in the 3rd.

I would also take a shot on Chris Hackett late. His 40 time was horrible but he looked much better on tape

Derron Smith | Safety
Team: Fresno State Bulldogs
Age / DOB: (23) / 2/4/1992

Fresno State S Derron Smith (sports hernia) "looked really fluid and smooth in the drills," reported TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.
Smith has been shelved for the past three months while recovering from sports hernia surgery. "For the most part, Smith's return was a success," Pauline wrote. The Bulldog safety leaped to a 34-inch vertical jump and 10-3 broad jump and hoisted up 18 reps on the bench. He clocked a mid-4.5s in the 40 and a 4.22 in the short shuttle. Pauline passed along that the Raiders, Jaguars, Buccaneers and Colts sent defensive back coaches to the event, each of whom met with Smith. Mar 26 - 2:29 AM

First off... I hate watching TV to scout players... it just doesn't work unless they are the RB or QB because so much of the time they are off screen so if a guy makes a tackle 20 yards downfield, is that good or bad hard to say. With that being said, after seeing some of these videos I must say Cody Prewitt seems like the kind of guy who could see some rotational plays here right away and might eventually be a good replacement for Wilcox. He has a nose for the ball and a bit of raw talent. He is definitely not starter ready right away, but then again I wouldn't mind substituting him in for Church on passing downs. I wouldn't be mad if we spent a 3rd rounder or so on him.

This really is a bad class for FS
Most of the better ones are strong safeties.

BTW, I think Campbell is more like a 4th rounder...3rd at best. But the lack of top end talent this year may push some of the me up.

Eric Rowe #18
02/23/15 - 2015 NFL Combine Five Things to Know: 4. Corner or safety? Rowe shows the skillset for both: At 6-1 and 205 pounds with long arms, Eric Rowe saw playing time at both safety and cornerback in college with scouts split on where his best position might be at the next level. But instead of limiting him to one or the other, he has the versatility to do both, and his workout numbers on Monday only backed that up. Rowe finished among the best performers in Indianapolis with a 4.45 40-yard dash, 39-inch vertical, 10-5 broad jump, 6.70 3-cone drill, 3.97 short shuttle and 19 reps on the bench. He checked a number of boxes and might have secured his spot as a top-100 prospect in the 2015 class. Some teams still like him best at cornerback while others see him as a safety, but regardless, he has the skill-set to play either and start in the NFL. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

You can see Rowe here but he is at CB.

Gerod Holliman #8

Coverage and ball-hawking abilities are intriguing but tacking is a big mess. Are his tackling issues coach-able if he is available in the 4th/5th?

11/17/2014 - NOV 10 ACC DEFENSIVE BACK OF THE WEEK: Gerod Holliman, Louisville, So.-r, S, 6-0, 206, Miami, Fla.,...Holliman picked off three passes - the second most in school history for a single game - in the Cardinals' 38-19 ACC road win at Boston College. The three interceptions gave him a school record of 13 for the season and tied the ACC record set by NC State's David Amerson in 2011. Holliman, who also leads the nation in interceptions this season, needs one more pick to tie the NCAA single-season record. He has picked off a pass in eight of 10 games and has registered multiple interceptions in four contests. - ACC football

I feel the same. It is a terrible terrible group. While I am not sold on Church/Wilcox, we certainly are not going to get any better with players out of this class.
