I give no shiv to PFF.
Sue me, but I have issues with how they do their evaluations.

And this guy went from not making even an active roster to being put in the driver's seat to get experience and seasoning while at least getting penetration as Poe gets double teamed.
That guy was completely written off last year.

watch Hill on Chubb’s first big run. He gets pushed back 6 yds then pancaked. There’s several of those plays. Hill is a Marinelli pick which means he is a gap shooter. Those guys are typically not the stout DTs we need to hold up blocks and keep our LBs clean. He has caused some disruption on a few pass plays but he’s a problem against the run.

I’d switch biggest disappointment from Pollard to the entirety of the defense

And yes, I know the reason Pollard is a “big disappointment” is because we had high expectations for him this season, and none of us really expected the defense to be all star, but good gracious is this defense HORRENDOUS. Nothing can beat out how disappointed and horrendous this defense is.
Pollard was his biggest offensive disappointment

Defensive MVP-Aldon Smith (We really can nominate nobody as the defense across the board has been bad.)
Best Rookie-Trevon Diggs (Growing pains, but flashes at times)
Biggest Surprise-Joe Thomas (He been one of the biggest standouts thus far)
Biggest Disappointment-Everson Griffen

Biggest surprise: Aldon leading the league in sacks after game 3.
I expected he could come back and play well. But I thought he'd be fighting for a roster spot, and then *maybe* come on late in the season. That he can roll out of bed after 5 years and lead the league in sacks after game 3 is incredible.

Lots of competition for biggest D Disappointment - Lawrence, Crawford, Jaylon, Griffen. I can see giving it to Griffen if knowing the Hot Boyz, you expected little from them in the first place. Still, Jaylon has been awful. Worse than even I expected, and I've been down on him since last year.

Here's my opinion of Dak's inflated garbage time stats...

These so called garbage stats have already been refuted.

Now we are through the first, four games, let's look at the awards for the 1st Quarter of the season:

Offensive MVP-Dak Prescott
Best Rookie-CeeDee Lamb
Biggest Surprise-Dalton Shultz
Biggest Disappointment-Tony Pollard

The top 2 should be chalk on this board, where some may view the bottom 2 differently. I cannot remember a single play where I noticed Pollard in a positive way. He was suppose to be a bigger contributor with the offense, but he is remembered as a terrible kickoff returner thus far.

Same as above, I bet there are a lot of different opinions on the bottom 2 categories. I had high hopes for Everson Griffen, he has been flat out a total bust thus far.
Yeah..

Well if you ever watched Rowan and Martin's Laugh In back in the 60s..

They had an award they called The Flying Fickle Finger of Fate Award.

Always humorous but always off the beaten path stuff.

I award the 2020 Flying Fickle Finger of Fate Award to HaHa Clinton Dix who signed his contract thinking he would be the starting FS. Only to find out he actually had to play to earn it.

He could not get past the 2nd week of camp before he was cut and looking for a job.

Thank you Clinton Dix. You must have been a complete dud. We never saw you take a snap.

And to think you were so bad..after we could not find anybody to play the position they would not call you back.

Biggest Overall disappointment has to be Lawrence thus far. Was expecting a rebound year and haven't seen much. On offense biggest dissapointment has to be the entire oline. I guess if I called someone out specifically would be Collins. He showed up out of shape and never got to play despite early reports he was day to day. Everything else you listed I agree with.

I understand and won't argue.
I'm still saying he's a surprise for this team and was completely written off last year.

He's a developing player and hopefully he reaches his full potential.

Griffen hasn’t been a bust. The entire defense has been because of Nolans scheme.

Zeke MVP, if stats Prescott would quit getting us behind and not letting him run.
Zeke is getting tired of stats changing the plays to pad his dak.

i like the list exception biggest disappointment on Defense has to Jsmith id add him to both lists lol

Jaylon Smith was coming off a poor season, him playing badly again to me isn't a big surprise or a big disappointment.

Never mind these goobers trying to pick the low hanging fruit. I like this!

I'm agreeing with almost all of your picks, but I would put DLaw as biggest disappointment and Trysten Hill as biggest surprise.

Nice thread!

I agree about DLaw, I think his poor play has more to due about his health. Read somewhere recently that he wasn't even playing half the snaps over the last few games. Hill is night and day a better player this year compared to his rookie season thus far.

+1 but for me, I'd probably replace Thomas with T Hill. As for Griffen, I'm willing to curt him a little slack ( lack of conditioning) since he was late signing. But my biggest disappointment and surprise would be Nolan. I know you wanna players mention but if we using the word disappointment, he gotta in here somewhere LOL.

Tell you the truth, I like a multiple defense, but there was a chance this could blowup just like when Rob Ryan was here. It's a complicated defense that takes time to implement, especially with a shorten off-season.

I think Zuerlin should also be in the running as a major disappointment.

It's all about lack of health for the OL, we haven't seen mass injuries like this in many years to the unit. I would argue the same about DLaw he is clearly playing hurt, perhaps best to rest a game or two to become more effective.

I think people go overboard with that. Every game isn't garbage stats. I couldn't watch the Atlanta game because I was at a wedding. So I really don't know if they dialed it back with the big lead. But I know the Browns dialed it back because I watched them do it. And it almost cost them the game. I don't recall any garbage stats against the Seahawks or Rams.
