At 14 I have no doubt we can pick up someone to help us immediately. Barron, Gilmore, Coples, Cox, Ingram or DeCastro...

The real draft starts in the 2nd round at 45 and down.

I think we MUST come up with another starter at 45 and someone who plays 40-50% snaps in the 3rd round.

It's the 2nd, 3rd and 4th that will make or break this draft.

I hope we come away with DL, OL, DB and LB in the 1st 4 picks who all can contribute.

I don't find it boring, the Cowboys pick right now is very much up in the air.

We like Barron, odds from what I'm gathering lately is there is very little chance he is there at 14.

We like Cox, no chance he will be there

Not sure why you listed Gilmore, he won't be an option for us at 14

Coples, Ingram, Brockers and DeCastro are all possibilites but I dont think any of them over excite Dallas at 14.

This could be a very interesting 1st round.

SDogo, any idea if Kirkpatrick is still on the team's radar at 14? Seems he hasn't been mentioned here as often lately since Barron has become the hot commodity. Not sure how I'd feel about him at 14 (really, not sure how I'd feel about any of them at 14 if Cox/Barron are gone), but it sounded a few weeks ago like they really liked him.

I don't believe there is a DB not named Barron or Claiborne that is a legit option at 14 right now.

Thanks.

This Barron-to-Buffalo thing is bumming me out. I"d come around to being excited at the thought of him being our pick.

I couldn't agree more. :lmao2:

I'm so sick and tired of the speculation for 14, but what are you gonna do but wait?

The fun of the draft is always your next pick. #14 is our next pick. Then we start hoping the right guys fall.

I agree that the 14th pick is still wide open right now, 4-13 keeps changing so much, we have no real confident idea who will be there for us. We do have ideas, rumors and mocks but who knows.

I also agree that 45 is very interesting but I think we pretty much have to wait until after the first to see who is available, who fell and what we addressed in round one. All exciting for me lol

Yeah, wouldn't it be nice if the NFL hadn't made yet another concession to the appeal of advertising and had more than just round 1 on that day?

I agree that we need to find at least two starters....but it makes no difference what round they find them in.

Very interesting. We have so many good possibilities at 14 that I don't think there is a chance we trade down. I don't really see a reason to trade up either unless there is one player they really determined to get.

That likely won't change until we are on the clock.

We got too many holes on this team to trade up, we cant afford to give up the picks. Stay at 14 and get a blue chip player, at least 1 legit blue chipper is going to be there at 14.

I can't see us trading up either. Much better value if a player should fall instead of getting locked into a player and trade up for him. We not are one player away team.

Buffalo is a real wildcard in the Draft, but I still think they go OT in Round 1, esp now that they lost D Bell to Philly.

As a 2nd option, I think they go WR if Floyd is still there.

I agree. I think they go OT as well. Actually, I agree with the WR thing too. I think Barron will be there.

Well they do have other options including Gilmore and Kuechly also.

Don't think they are too high on Reiff though.

The speculation is that the Bills didn't even bring in Reiff for a pre-draft visit.

Who knows, but that isn't a good sign for them taking him and there isn't another OT that ranks that high.

I guess given all that Buff has done and spent in FA on defense, esp with M Williams and Anderson, I think they will try to give their offense a boost.

They need both an OT and a WR. I know there is concern about Reiff's arm length, but other than Martin from Stanford, I'm not sure if they will be able to land a Day 1 starter with the other guys remaining.

And given what happened to the Ohio St OT (Mike Adams) and the failed drug test, it may put even more pressure on them to select an OT high.

And I think Floyd is a weapon they can also use Day 1. Other than Stevie Johnson, who else do they have?

I personally think this first round could get very interesting for the Cowboys and their #14 pick...let's look at the "what if" scenarios:

WHAT IF
* Someone wants Tannehill bad enough to trade into the top 10 for him?
* Floyd goes prior to #14
* Coples falls (based on laziness comments about him recently)
* Someone believes the hype and reaches for Gilmore
* Someone buys into Barron earlier than expected
* A mystery team jumps in to get "their guy" (See Atlanta: 2011 draft)

If these scenarios all occurred (which isn't unreasonable), then you have the following in the first 13 picks:

* OFFENSE: 3 QB's, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 OT
* DEFENSE: 1 LB, 1 S, 2 CB, 1 DL
* Mystery guy

That's 13 players gone leaving the likes of: Reiff, DeCastro, Upshaw, Brockers, Ingram, Kuechly...that sounds like a good problem to have, especially if they want to trade down a few spots and pick up another selection. BTW, if any of the 13 are still around, then the prospects for Dallas are even better.
