1. Harold Landry - little bit of a surprise pick here, but for this mock I'm going with a lot of the Cowboys top targets off the board (Ridley, Vea, Payne, Hurst, Smith, Edmunds.) Cowboys buy low on a player that had top 10 tape in 2016, but injuries limited the production in 2017. Still think when healthy the dude is a terror on the edge, and potential solution at RDE giving us some great pass nickel pass rush juice in year 1.

2. Tim Settle - we missed out on the beef in round 1, but Settle in the 2nd might be better value anyway. Huge, but surprisingly athletic 1T, that gives you run clogging and some quality pressure as well.

3. Armani Watts - not sure if he'll last this long, but love the ability to make plays against both the run and the pass. Needs to improve the tackling, but natrual/fluid athlete that will hopefully give us a playmaking safety.

4. Wyatt Teller - we double down with VT prospects, and grab a great G to groom. One of 6 OGs in FBS that didn't allow a single sack or QB hit in the regular season while also displaying plus run blocking.

You didn't snag any of my pet cats, but I like the thinking. Trenches and the middle of the defense should garner top priority. Of course, if a Linebacker they like is also there it could be a toss up.

Just have a hard time seeing Landry as a full time DE. His body type looks more like a S at the moment. And after we are presumably are going to pay Lawrence big time “water daddy” type $ to be our RDE? I’m not against adding more pass rushers, but I just see Landry as more a project to fit our scheme than I’d like to pick at 19.

Big fan of Settle and Watts would be very good value if he makes it to the 3rd.

This really is one of the years that I hope the draft board is leaked somehow after the draft is over.
Would really love to see the tiers they eventually set. How far off we the fans really are, and who they value and in which group would be fasinateing.
Cause, just because they set their board, doesnt mean they will fall that way.

Water daddy? I don't know if that's a typo, sarcasm or an attempt at a joke. Either way, I chuckled a little.

Landry is almost the exact size Lawrence was as a prospect, and Lawrence took a bulk of his snaps at LDE last year - not that the side really matters to me.

I think he needs to work on his run D, but I don't see him as a project at all and thinks he's a great fit scheme wise.

I don’t think DE will be Round 1 choice. That’s too much money for DE position. Cap Salary plays a part in any selection especially Round 1. I think u have Irving there for this year and u go DT Round 2/3. I really think u have to go OG or LB in Round 1. What combination would u be happy with?

Rd 1. DT
Rd.2. OG

Rd. 1 OG
RD 2. WR

Rd 1. LB
Rd 2. OG

Too much money for DE? Isn't that the whole reason teams draft those guys early?

Irving also played a ton inside.

For the above, it depends on the board. In my scenario, all of the 1st round talent at LB and DT was wiped out and I'm not taking a G at 19 not named Nelson.

I hear ya but fear is my motivator this year The biggest hole in this team is the left side of the offensive line. Yes I know not if TSmith
is healthy way big "if" for me

I guess I'm way more optimistic on Smith being fine. I could get behind drafting a G I just don't like the idea of taking one in the 1st unless we're trading back.

I agree if the board stays as it looks today on many big boards. Adding a three and getting a top guard then a swing tackle if available later.
we have needs every where LB,safety,D1,WR
