1. Lost the battle on the LOS on both sides of the ball. It's simply very very hard to win when that happens.

2. Lost TOP. And badly. Letting a team run up and down the field simply makes it almost impossible to win.

Yes, these two are related. Until our D can make some stops, it's back to the good ol' 8-8.

It seemed the first half the defense was completely unprepared for the Rans quick passing attack. With no preseason I expected a few missed tackles early on but at times our guys were completely blindsided by the misdirection and screens

The offense was 1-8 on 3rd down.

Defense couldn’t get off the field

Offense couldn’t stay on it

But hey, we have already surpassed last seasons best punt return in game one! :flagwave:

Didn’t see game how did Lamb look if that’s what you are referencing

Which won't change when our OL can't control the LOS. It's all related to controlling the LOS!!!
So Dak needs a perfect team around him. I’m sick of this. That will never happen in this league, you only pay a QB that can make a team around him better. The guy simply isn’t getting the job done.

Def was getting smoked all night. No way the lambs should have driven the ball on the opening drive for 12 minutes! Good God
They didn't have the ball for 12 minutes on the opening drive, but they did in the 1st quarter. The Ram's 2nd possession was really the one where they held the ball a long time (9 minutes - 17 plays).

Dak wasn't very good last night. I gave him a C.

However, the D was the biggest problem last night. There are other issues.

Dak played better than anyone on offense. He had 3 or 4 passes dropped on 3rd down. He also ran effectively when things broke down a few times. Not many QB's would look better when Aaron Donald was in your face on 35% of the snaps.

I remember the announcers talking about TOP in the 2nd half, and it was like 18-5, if I remember correctly.

Maybe we need to give McC another year to build the D?
Yup i recall them talking about that as well. Even then, we were still up at halfitme!? We can't go scoreless in 2 quarters of a game. Started slow, then went into turtle conservative mode in the second half. Pathetic.
