2 Weeks To Go for TC, what are you looking forward to the most?

Well, 13 days to the report date.
15 days to the first practice, though unpadded.

But it is getting closer. man just can't wait. So what are you looking forward to the most, besides that it is starting.

I want to see how Jaylon Smith will be introduced into the practices. Will they start him out right away, and everyday. Or will ease him into it, sideline work, then every other practice. I will be disappointed if started off with sideline work.

Next, I want to see how Noah Brown and Rico Gathers do.
Actually many things I look forward to, but those are my top three for now.
 
I believe Jaylon is going every other day in training camp...but to be honest that doesn't matter at all..that doesn't change whether his foot is 100% or not...
 
My pet 'dog' this camp, is DT Joey Ivie...but to quote Mickey Spags: competition -

Bottom line on all this: Competition for not only starting jobs, not only for playing time, but for what usually is the eight defensive line roster spots, will be at an all-time high during training camp and those five preseason games. Think about it. If the Cowboys keep four defensive tackles, then all those top defensive end candidates can’t make the team. Just do the numbers: Charlton, Lawrence, Mayowa, Tapper, Moore, Irving and Crawford. While some might think Crawford’s versatility is a curse, this year it might become a blessing.

Well, I am most looking forward to hearing football-related news and not things such as suspensions, drug fails and in general, the police blotter; that being said, here are my top 3 things of interest before the HOF game:

1) I am most intrigued by the development of the 2017 rookie DBs - how are they going to use them? will any get time at safety? (no one mentions White, but that kid isn't bad, so I include him with the other 3)
2) Development of 2016 rookies, not just the appearances of JSmith and CTapper, but also Brown and Collins - Collins with a full off-season - yikes, this kid is gonna be good
3) The battle for the spots in the DL rotation
 
I'm more excited ab this year than I have been for awhile mainly because this team is so young, talented, and hungry. It's hard for me to pick just one bc there is someone I'm rooting for at every position group on both sides of the line.
Offensively:
Wr- Noah Brown, Andy Jones, and Switzer
RB- Jahad Thomas- will he subplant Morris
QB- how will Dak look year 2 as the uncontested Starter
OL- Collins- how good will he be at RT next to Martin? And who's going to win the LG spot?
Defensively:
Safety- praying Heath looks as good as a starter as he has a part time player and will Byron become a star after a full season & off season at his true position?
CB- pick one.. how does Scandrick look? Is Carroll good enough? How good is Lewis and Awuzie? Can Brown build on last year?
LB- of course Jaylon.. who will take the next step out of Nzeocha, Wilson, or Lotulelei?
DL- will Collins become a superstar? Is Taco a real player or a reach? Will Irving find consistency? Now Healthy, will Lawrence and Crawford show off their potential? Is Paea, Ivie, and Thornton real players in Marenilli's scheme?

But if I had to pick one..
I'm going to be staring at Charles Tapper. I believe he will show up big for us and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he will considering he has no NFL experience to speak of. But before he went down last year, most reports were talking very highly of him. If he is what I'm hoping, he will help our defense tremendously.
 
Sadly nothing is going to be decided until the pads come on and full speed hitting starts. So it will be a little longer then just the start of camp.
Left guard on offense; I think Collins will win the battle at Tackle due to the staffs realization they dare not trust green.
On D, Jaylon of course is the biggest question mark.
 
Confirmation that Dak has taken the next step.

Is there better chemistry between receivers and QB it should show up in TC, if the offense has developed from last year.

Can Collins be a beast at RT and earn a big paycheck next year.

Is Zeke as good as we hoped and made progress from year one. He can be a nightmare if he progresses.
 
Our entire secondary.

I'm sure we will see some growing pains but I am excited to see this group grow together. All of these guys coming in together should build a comradity yet competitive atmosphere that should be fun to watch.

For all the drama, this has the makings to be a very exciting season. Last season we saw a change of guard at offense...this season we very well could see the face of our defense emerge.
 
1. The time has finally come to see what Jaylon Smith looks like.

2. The DL, specifically Maliek Collins and Taco Charlton. They have real potential to be long term answers at those elusive 3T and RE spots for us. Integral positions on this defense.

3. The new look secondary and how we plan on using the rookies.

4. La'el Collins' transition to RT. I know he's going to be a road grader there, I want to see him be a reliable pass protector.

5. The battle at LG. Can we salvage Jonathan Cooper's career, or will someone like Chaz Green/Byron Bell beat him out?
