1 #9 Tyron Smith, OT, USC 6-5 #290 - could be our RT or LT for a decade

2 #40 B Harris, CB, Maimi, 5-10 #191 – Newman’s replacement

3 #71 Will Rackley, OG, 6-3 #310 - mobility is complemented well by his strength. He has a very thick lower body, and his upper body strength is adequate (29 reps at the Combine). athleticism allows him to play with tremendous leverage

4 #110 Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina 6-2 #205 – he’s my safety – I think he has all pro potential

5 #143 Ian Williams, NT, Notre Dame, 6-1 #319 - Plays with a good motor and demonstrates above-average range in pursuit. Gets into opposing linemen quickly with his good first step and is consistently one of the first linemen moving off the ball - Williams has had a good season for Notre Dame. He has the bulk you look for to hold up at the point of attack and he exhibits good power with a nice hand punch

6 #176 Doug Hogue, OLB/ISLB, Syracuse 6-3 #235 – Ryan will love this guys Speed - Used regularly on run and pass blitzes

7a #220 David Carter DE/DT UCLA 6-5 #300 – had a great East – West Game - great 5 tech guy

7b #251 Jeremy Ross WR/KR Cal 6 #210 – do not want to see Dez returning kicks this year -
Ross was impressive his pro day, which led scouts to wonder why he didn’t play more as a receiver at Cal. Not only did he run very well—in the mid 4.4s—but he shined in the position drills. He ran very good routes, showing the ability to get in and out of breaks smoothly and displaying good burst out of his cuts. Teams will take a close look at Ross because he has real value as a returner.
If they believe he can also contribute as a receiver, he becomes an attractive option on draft boards.

Take Roy’s place next year

1 #14 – 18 Derek Sherrod, OT Mississippi State 6-6 #305 or Gabe Carimi Wis OT Wis 6-7 #315

2 #40 B Harris, CB, Maimi, 5-10 #191 - A tall, good-looking cornerback prospect who possesses a long set of arms, good coordination and knows how to go up and make a play on the football. Looks more natural as an off/zone corner. Possesses natural bend when asked to sit into his stance and is much more

2b-3a John Moffitt, G/C, Wisconsin 6-4 #314 - hes just a nasty player – no way he drops to the 4th or the 5th round

3 #71 Krendrick Ellis, DT, Hampton 6-3 #280 - Is powerful, can anchor as a nose and is athletic enough to get looks as a five-technique as well.

4 #110 Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina 6-2 #205 – he’s my safety – I think he has all pro potential

5 #143 Henry Hynoski, FB, Pitt 6-2 #260 - Big, nasty throwback FB who played in a pro-style offense

6 #176 Kris O'Dowd, C/OG, USC 6-4 #305 - Athletic enough to consider moving to guard in the NFL and has experience at the position. Quick into his set and maintains balance.

7a #220 Ronald Johnson, WR, USC 5-11 #199 - Big play threat with good speed and elusiveness in the open field. Dangerous return man with his speed, quickness, and vision.

7b #251 Marc Schiechl, DE/OLB, Colorado School of Mines 6-2 #251 – holds the Division II record with 46 career sacks, and he's 4th all-time with 70.5 career tackles for loss

Now onto his pro day measurements and how they compare to the top combine performers:
40-yard dash: 4.64 s (would have been 6th among LBs and 3rd among DEs)
Bench press: 38 reps (tied for 2nd among all positions at combine, only beaten by Stephen Paea)
Vertical: 35" (9th among LBs, 6th among DEs)

update

6 #176 Chris White, ILB, Mississippi State 6-3 #240 -

2010: White compiled 13 starts and 110 total tackles to lead the Bulldogs earning him First Team SEC honors. Also had 15.5 TFLs including 6 sacks and 2 INTs. Plays downhill and able to shed blockers in the hole and make tackles. Great sense for the ball and quickness to get to the point of attack. Good lateral movement. Drops well in coverage. Hard worker and good leadership

7b #251 Markell Carter, OLB, Central Arkansas, 6-4, 250 - With good length and quickness, he could become an excellent pass rusher with the room to run (he had 5.5 sacks, but 19 tackles for loss as a senior defensive end at UCA - He has been productive 11.5 TFL, 6.5 sacks in 2009 19 TFL, 5.5 sacks in 2010. He's athletic, lanky, with long arms, good agility, he deflects some passes, he has leadership skills, is durable and when asked to he has taken fairly good drops into coverage. Carter is explosive toward the line and if the RB or QB runs to the edge, he's there to lay down the punishment. He has solid ability to hold onto a ball carrier. He's a team leader also. His Force at Point of Attack is solid in his game, he shows good playing speed, very aggressive but plays smart. His field intelligence has allowed him to remain healthy. I've watched him survey the field looking at schemes before the ball is snapped and blow up a runner who thought his path was clear.

I was thinking of doing one a lot like this (love Sherrod) but trading back into the 1st to get Watkins and waiting until 4 to grab Shareece Wright. Also, while Hynoski is an option for me I went with Jah Reid. The boards love FB's but I don't know that Jerry does.

Also I had and extra 4th for Lawrence Guy. I doubt many of these players fall as far as I'd like them to.
