20 Questions: 2, Is Dak a Legitimate MVP Candidate for 2026

Hes for sure in the discussion, it shouldn't even be a debate. He has two elite weapons in an expected high powered offense. If they get to double digit wins and Dak stays healthy he would be in the voting for sure.
 
Is he on the list of potential MVP's before the season begins? I don't think this is an argument; there are many candidates at this time. If he and his "teammates" continue on their path of success, and the D improves drastically...the team should win a fair number of games more than last season. I would prefer to wait until the season is half over before making a list of potential MVP's
 
I flew over the articel. The arguments can are trimmed down to:

he was in conversation before so why not again?
His stats were good so why not be mvp?

Putting it short. Very shallow articel with not much work put into it to find reasons why he could be mvp. But what would ypu expect from a-social.media clowns? Funniest thing is the article cast doubt in its own necessity in the sec paragraph were the autor states that Prescott is not the favorite for MVP. Great assertion. But then why write another thousand words about the oposite? Idiot anyone?!

Anyways.... as in all rubbish on sports media around here people dont care about what they write anyways. And they do with conciousness just because they need to write some crap to earn money. Doesnt matter what worth it has nor in what light it puts them. Just open your mouth and let some gases out.

MVP will be the player that will contibute the most tp the success for his team. Per definition of the position QB - if the player aint the complete bozo - the QB will be always be a favourite for it.

But being a bit sarcastic Prescott already told us he isnt the most valuable player come playoff time. He told Williams that he needs him because he cant do it on his own.

Prescotts backups showed multiple times that the fort can be hold even without him. Maybe not with the expectations that come with him under center. But then did he lead us to places different from them the backups lead us to? No. So expectations are not justified. And so aint the MVP conversation.

Prescott to some may be a good QB but he far from being the most valuable player for his team compared to other QBs.

Josh Allen comes to mind. He has not been to a SB either. What about Goff?

As you can see, there was a big gap in every category but yards and INts

So, the stats are in the post above. Here’s why he wasn’t even in the conversation and why he almost certainly won’t win this year unless the defense has a miracle turnaround.
  • The team failed:a QB needs 11-12 wins to have a chance. Offense was good enough to win 11 games. This was a four win defense, at best.
    • No QB has ever won MVP with less than a .688 win percentage (had to dig for that). Dak carried the team on his back to their meager win total. I don’t think any of the vote getters could have come close to 11 wins with that defense.
  • Touchdowns: Stafford blew everyone away with 46 passing touchdowns. You really need 35+ TDs. 40 TDs almost always wins an MVP
  • Yards Per Attempt: Maye’s YPA (8.9 YPA) kept him close to Stafford despite the TD gap. This is a stat that matters to voters but lots of fans don’t watch. You can blame Terd Feeguson for Dak’s low number here. I asked Claude to recalculate Dak’s YPA without Ferg and his number shot up to 7.9, the same as Allen.
 
absolutely.
if he stays healthy...in this offemse with those reveivers and an improved defense...
he has as much of a shot as any one else.

We all know that Allen is Superman, and it's clear that his Yards/TD's are lowest on this list because of having no WR's, and his TE room was a disaster in 2025. The Bills gave him a legit WR1, so it will be very interesting to see if his game changes, and if the stats realign themselves....this is a massive year for the QB in Buffalo
 
Winning or being close to winning the NFL MVP < Winning playoff games

I'm more focused on winning games that matter. Winning beauty contests does nothing for me.

Allen has been to an AFCCG or 2, right? And Goff? He played in super bowl 53.

What has #4 accomplished beyond regular season garbage time stats? You can't really compare #4 to them until #4 accomplishes something more along those lines

Maye had insane yards with Diggs, Hollins and Douglas

Difference between him and Allen (and Dak) is that he is a truly elite downfield passer with accuracy really high percentages on deep throws.

Allen didn’t have a Diggs but he’s also a much more shallow passer

This year will be a test for Maye; the schedule is 100x harder than it gifted him last year. Allen 100% has the arm, but this issue is still what's upstairs..I'm not the only one who is aware of the issues at WR and TE last year, and the Bills have addressed part of it....time will tell

MVP is based on regular season though. Not playoff accomplishments. Though I am sure current votes are somewhat influenced by past playoffs.
Just like many pro bowl players make it based on past performances over the years of longevity.

I forgot Goff played in a SB. Yes I know Allen made it to a few AFCCG's. But to some they only judge a QB by SB's.

I agree. It doesn't matter who is on the list right now. By mid season many will have dropped off due to performance or injury, and many will be added due to injury of others and performance)...not to mention team performance plays into this.
