2000-2009 Era: Greatest QB after Manning/Brady?

Everybody agrees Peyton Manning and Tom Brady were the greatest QBs of the last decade, although they will argue which is the best. Farve was winding down - Brees and Arron were warming up, Roethlisberger was in the mix.

After Tom and Peyton, who was the best?

Favre
McNair
Warner

I'd even throw McNabb in there, I hate him but I'll give him his due... going to 4 straight NFC title games is nothing to scoff at.

I would have to say Farve. Even though he was on a decline, he still lead his team to some division titles. That could be because the NFC North was pretty weak @ the time.

Honorable Mention in order imo:
McNabb
Brees
Warner
McNair
Ben
Garcia

Warner, hands down.
I don't know that it's as cut and dry as you make it, but I agree with Warner.

I don't think McNabb belongs in the conversation. He did quite a bit without many options. But between 00-09 McNabb was a top 10 passer only two separate years, 2004 and 2008.

It's also tough to go with Warner. He started out pretty hot in the early 2000s, but was a backup shortly after that, before taking the Cardinals to the Super bowl.

I don't know of a QB who went through so much to get where he got, and put up with so much to get that spot back after things went bad. The decision is easy. Warner. And he deserves to be first ballot. Surprising i know coming from a Dallas fan, but Kurt earned it.

He would of been in the hof if he won one more sb imo. What hurts him is that his poor play, being 2nd string, and/or injuries from 02-08 affected his chances of a hof.

Warner was great at the start, faded off and then emerged again.

What does it matter what he went through? That is insignificant to me. Drafted #1 overall or picked up as a street free agent doesn't matter. If you can play, you can play. If you can't, you can't.

Warner definitely had some great years, but he also had several years when he was mediocre at best. In the time span mentioned(200-2009), Brees out produced Warner in terms of yards and TDs and Brees did it in 1 fewer season since he was drafted in 2001. Not that it makes Warner a poor choice, but there is nothing easy about it. There is definitely room for discussion.

Warner make a remark about Eli after his 2nd SB victory that may haunt him (they were on the Giants together for a time.)

He said Eli need more good seasons along with the SB victories to make it in the HOF. While I want Kurt to make it into the HOF, he's really vulnerable to finger inconsistency with Eli when his own lull between the Rams and Cardinals isn't pretty.
