I like Watkins and I really don't have a problem with Fasano either. I'd like him to add a little more to the passing game but he's honestly here to be more of a blocker for us and he does a pretty good job of it.

With Jason as the starting TE it's not like we can expect 40 catches a year out of Anthony.

Carpenter is the only guy on that list that I'm less than thrilled with at this point.

I don't want to start this argument again, but do you honestly think you need to spend a 2nd round draft pick on a blocking tight end?

2005 Draft

11. Demarcus Ware, DE,Troy State
20. Marcus Spears, DE, Louisiana State
42. Kevin Burnett, LB, Tennessee
109. Marion Barber, RB, Minnesota
132. Chris Canty, DE, Virginia
208. Justin Beriault, DB, Ball State
209. Rob Petitti, T, Pittsburgh
224. Jay Ratliff, DE, Auburn

2006 Draft

18. Bobby Carpenter, LB, Ohio State
53. Anthony Fasano, TE, Notre Dame
92. Jason Hatcher, DE, Grambling State
125. Skyler Green, WR, Louisiana State
138. Pat Watkins, DB, Florida State
182. Montavious Stanley, DT, Louisville
211. Pat McQuistan, T, Weber State
224. E.J. Whitley, C, Texas Tech

It is hard for me to find fault with these 2 drafts given we took 16 players and 11 of them are not only still on the team but all are contributing in some way.

Well the 2005 draft was something special, you're cheating a little bit. ;)

If you're not cheating you're not trying.

If he's the guy you want, and you don't think he'll be there in the 3rd or 4th round, I don't have a problem with it. The people evaluating him, and deciding what they need for their team, know far better than I do. They're professionals and I'm a fan.

Would I like for him to be able to give more? Sure. I'd LOVE it if every 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd rounder would just be real good for us.

But given what he was drafted for, or I assume what he was drafted for as I'm not BP and don't claim to know more about what he was thinking than he did, I don't think he's a bad pick.

He blocks well for us and adds in a few receptions for us. I'm not unhappy with him.
