I'm not at all trying to rag on the Cowboys personnel moves from 2004 or any year previous. Just playing a little "what if" and realizing I would feel so much better about this team if we had another OL position nailed down rock solid. It's a cryin shame that we shelled out significant $$ in an attempt to do just that and so far, have not gotten commensurate return.
Makes the Rogers failure, the Allen decline, and the Peterman lack of development that much more painful. btw - we can't both shrug off Whitely's IR as "a redshirt year" and give Peterman the excuse of 2005 being his "rookie year".
At CB, I am certainly ok with the Henry signing. I hope he is healthy, plays 16+ for us this year, and at the level he mostly showed in 2005. Either Smoot or Lucas signings at CB would have been equally successful I think.
But at OG if we could've signed Wahle (I know his Carolina desires were a factor), even for more money, we'd all take that in a heart beat today. Our problem today is NOT cap room, except that the cap room Rivera is taking up has been thus far unproductive cap room. Sure hope that changes in 2006.
