With the dumping of some older plyers (Larry Allens future still undecided) and not spending money early on in FA this year. Getting younger.

Is it posible that we are doing a mini rebuilding here vs. the "Going for it this year" that we all thought was BP's last hurrah ?

Is BP more concerned with leaving us in a good position next year (and for a long time) than winning the big one this year to putting us into his legacy book ?

Saving our money for next years FA crop ? Is it better than this years, will teams has less money to compete because of the big jump in salary cap after the CBA negotiations ?

Is this thing now JJ and BP practicing patience ? Something I would have never guessed. How can you be patient at Valley Ranch while everyone around you is paying BIG bucks to mid level free agents.

Maybe they can't. That is why they are out on vacation.

If this is the case, building a solid foundation vs. big spending for a quickie Superbowl run, then having an old team dismateling.

Then I applaud you guys and didn't think you had it in you.

If I'm totally off base here....

Well then nevermind :)

I dont think they are practising patience.. at all. I think this year FA crop is not that good and they are being very selective. Once Danny boy hit the market so hard and paid what he did for mid level players.. everyone's value went up. I think they are trying to wait til it goes down to reasonable levels again. Other than a kicker,, no one is off the boards that they were targeting. I know everyoen wanted adam v.. and i amsure he got a look, but in the end, he will retun to Ne.. i dont think he ever wanted to leave or had any plans to leave, just wanted to set his market value as high as possible. I do think if things haven't changed by this weekend, you will see some moves at VR and some over paying will happen. But keep in mind, JJ and BP knows we have some very good players that will be UFA next year and we want to sign them and that is going to be pretty expensive.

I've sort of thought along those lines for a few days now. It does seem that Dallas is retooling alot. It really makes me wonder if Parcells isn't actually planning on fulfilling his two years with us. I know some of the Parcells haters will hope not, but he's about winning and it certainly does appear that he's getting the team younger and younger and hence more durable and coachable. I do think that Allen has drawn Parcell's ire for several seasons now by doing his own thing and showing up fat and slow every year. Keyshawn probably really hurt Parcells, but shows his committment to getting younger...at least at WR and at least w/ a roster bonus due. That is, deciding top drop Key due to age AND money. I think we'll see a better team with some solid drafting and a few tweeks here and there (OL, kicker, WR) through FA.

Maybe those at VR have realized that Bledsoe isn't a QB they can win it all with and are setting up for a '07 -'09 run with his replacement...;)

That would explain a lot of what's happening.

A good way to judge that is to watch what happens with the rumors of Matt Straub and see if Bledsoe is offered an extension this year.
