no matter what combination of teams ends up playing in two weeks, this will be one of (if not THE) weakest pairings of teams ever

all 4 of these teams are painfully average and have numerous holes

parity at its best

hurts even more that we couldn't take advantage of it.

BTW, I don't even think this years superbowl can top the mediocrity of Superbowl 35.

What exactly is the colts weakness in the playoffs so far?

Great Passing
Good running

Great against the pass
great against the run

good kickoff coverage
great kicking game

good coaching

playing a team that backed in the playoffs at home and another team with no offense kinda improves your chances, dont you think?

by the way, the Colts offense has been terrible so far in the postseason...Manning has been the lousiest QB in the postseason, and thats saying something when Rex Grossman and Trent Green are in it

Uh...Ravens v. Giants?

That Ravens team had one of the best Defenses ever. They would beat alot of super bowl teams no question

Yeah he said this years teams are some of the weakest super bowl teams ever, and i object.

Regular season, yes. Playoffs, no. Peyton is trying his best to choke away the games, but his defense just won't let him lose.

Stealers vs. Seahawks sure didn't hit on much. 05 Stealers have to be considered #40 on the list (soon to be #41).

I'll respectfully disagree....I've seen worse SB matchups.

Titans vs. Rams
Ravens vs. whomever they beat that year
How about last year's Steelers?
Super Bowl V had the Cowboys versus the Colts in a 13-10 game and was one of the worst played games in the history of the SB.

Whichever teams get there deserve to be there...besides, if they're all so poor, what the heck does that make a sorry team like ours?

Agreed. Defense wins championships, and in my opinion, that was the greatest defense ever.

I think there has to be a pre-salary cap and post-salary cap distinction here.

I would guess 90% of the SB teams pre-salary cap were better than all of the SB teams post-salary cap.

:hammer:

I agree 100%. It's sad when these are the best teams in football.

I agree to a certain degree. I'd say the salary cap didn't start effecting those great teams till about 5 years or so after it was implemented. Those 90s Broncos teams were around during the salary cap era but they were very good football teams. But the last 6-7 years? Horrible.
