So wait...if we don't hire a 3-4 coach...doesn't that mean we go back to a 4-3? I was always a fan of the 4-3, but do you think our guys will be able to make the transition back to 4-3? Would D-Ware go to being an end, or an outside linebacker? That would probably move Akin back to outside linebacker making our linebackers B-Carp, James, Akin...but we still don't know if Ware will be an end or backer.......sh1ts gonna start getting confusing.

Piece of cake. This 3-4 nonsense was nothing but BS.

Total waste of a scheme.

We have the talent base to run the 4-3. Spear can easily convert to DT. Ware lines up at End.

Carp, James, and Akin man the LB's. Not a bid deal.

Sounds easy, but it ain't quite that easy.
Remember the players have to adjust entirely or back to their old ways and the people we have put together is geared towards a 3-4 not a 4-3.

There are weight and technic issues.
I like Ware as a LB and would not want to change that.

What the 4-3 would do is keep him out of coverage that the 3-4 puts him in sometimes.

I don't know. I don't think I want to deal with a down year learning everything as opposed to them just learning new plays or schemes.
And I don't think too many fans hear after this season would be patient for it either.

I don't think it's that much of an adjustment. Most of the players are better suited with the 4-3...Ellis goes back to end, Ware moves to the other one (Ware is such a phenomenal player, I think he'll succeed wherever he goes)...Hatcher looks like a good 4-3 end

maybe need a new DT though. I don't paticularly like Canty or Spears in the middle.

I really do hope our guys will be able to make the transition back to 4-3. Yea the positive thing for Ware is that he won't be in coverage anymore. And I think he could be a beast at the end spot. Ferguson will be one DT but I dunno if Spears can man the other spot. For now we can put him there but we might want to look out for a true DT in free agency. I just saw that Rod Coleman is an UFA...he would be amazing for us. Maybe even Cullen Jenkins whos gonna be a star soon.

3-4 is a better defense and I hope thats the defense we stick with.

When you have coordinators who are creative the sky is the limit with all the things you can do with a 3-4 defense.

I like BOTH Canty and Spears as DT's. A "3-4" end is basically a "4-3" DT anyway. I think both could prosper at the DT position where they wouldn't have to generate a load of sacks.

I think whatever D we run, the guys will be very happy to have their lease's removed.

Funny, I played in the 3-4 in HS, but like the 4-3 better.
