There seems to be a little confusion on what picks we have for 2007...can anyone PLEASE provide this info. We have confirmed that we got a extra 4th round pic for Shanle to new orleans and a 7th rounder for sean ryan to the jets. But I wanted to know total amount of picks in each round.

here is the link to confirm the 4th round pick for Shanle...

I don't think that 4th rounder is at all "confirmed"

I believe the 4th is actually a 7th.

we have a 6th from the jets(hunter)
we owe kc a 6th(fugi)
we get new orleans 7th (shanle) and we get a 7th from the jets(ryan)
so we get 2 extra 7th's and we end up getting the jets 6th and owe k.c. our 6th. jets 6th should be a better pick than ours will be so that worked out well. shoot the way bill picks in the 7th we could add to our h.o.f. totals this year

so let me visualize...
that gives us:

1st round: 1 pick (ours)
2nd round: 1 pick (ours)
3rd round: 1 pick (ours)
4th round: 1 pick (ours)
5th round: 1 pick (ours)
6th round: 1 pick (via jets for Sean Ryan) (traded away our pick to KC for Fujita)
7th round: 3x picks= (ours) + (1 pick via New Orleans for Shanle) + (1 pick via NYJ for Sean Ryan)

I beleive the trade with the Saints was actually a conditional pick. I have no idea what the condition was and if it was met. Or if it was met making it a 4th round pick but there have been rumors of it becoming a 3rd.

Does anyone know for certain the conditions of the Washington / Denver trade. I read what the tidbit about it in Hos post, but that really does not spell it out. Anyone?

It makes alot more sense that it is a 7th, I often wondered why in the world the Saint would part with a 4th for a guy considered to be a backup.

Due to the fact the teams records are so far apart, the parameters as I read it are Washington's 3rd this year, and 4th next year.

It's my understanding that the value of the trade is the first pick in the third round by a draft pick value chart.

I've heard a few rumblings that Washington left too many variables in the trade assuming that they'd finish with a decent record.

Even if Washington finishes with the worst record in the league, having the first pick of the third round, they'd still be forced to include the '08 fourth.

There's also questions about whether the trade only applies to the original draft slots. If Washington trades down in the first round to a slot that fits the first round swap parameters, Denver may be able to exercise that option.

That is my understanding as well. I had not considered what would happen if they trade down in the first. I imagine Denver could exercise their option. No idea really. Good thought to research though.

I believe the Broncos can only swap the 1st rounder with Washington if the Skins finish between spot 20 and 32. And there's no way Washington improves enough to be selecting after 20. So that will be their high 3rd round pick.

And as far as the Skins trading down.... come on. It's the Skins. They don't trade down!!

They trade away.

Look at their draft right now from the post I did above.

No 2nd round pick this year. Jets own it for Roger McIntosh trade in 2006 draft.
No 3rd round pick this year. Denver owns it in Duckett/Lelie trade.
No 4th round pick next year. Same as above.
No 4th round pick this year. San Fran owns it in Brandon Lloyd trade.

That blue chipper in the first this year better be one hell of a pick, because his fellow rookies (as of right now) are 5th, 6th, and 7th rounders, and no one else.
